ENPS Multigun Match, April 21st...
« on: April 12, 2013, 01:03:08 PM »
You know what I'm going to say.

COME OUT AND SHOOT!  (Especially you folks who have taken a carbine class lately.  Now that you know how to run the gun, come out and run WITH the gun!)

ENPS Multigun match at the Eastern Nebraska Gun Club on April 21st.  Registration starts at 7:15am, closes at 8:40am, shooter's meeting at 9, and shooting right after that.  4 stages, lots of things to shoot at.  Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun--we'll shoot them all.  (Sometimes on the same stage.)

Don't ask me the round count.  I don't know, and neither does anyone else.  We haven't seen the stages!  (Though I WILL say that I know someone is doing a rifle-only stage on bay 5, and it'll have more than a couple targets...)

Only $15 for the match.  Come help set up at 7:15.   You'll have a good time!

Weather is going to be up to 60 degrees on Sunday.  Start getting that gear together.  Maybe clean your rifle?  (It's a thought...)

Any old pistol, rifle, and shotgun will do, if this is your first time.  (Well, you'll REALLY want your rifle to be semi-auto, but other than that, you can make everything else work.)

I started shooting Multigun with a Bushmaster AR-15 (Shorty-AK version), a Glock 34 with standard mags, and a Remington 870 pumpgun.  Did just fine in Limited division...

...just bring ammo, and very importantly, a way to carry it.  Being able to carry an extra rifle magazine, enough mags for 40 rounds of pistol ammo, and ~24 shotgun shells (not necessarily all at the same time) is important.

If you can move left, right, forward, and backward safely while holding a firearm pointed downrange, if you can reload safely while holding a firearm pointed downrange, and if you know how to keep your finger out of the trigger guard unless you are actively engaging targets---then you know how to be safe in Multigun competitions.

So c'mon out and give it a try.

(On an uplifting note for the rest of us:  Betsworth won't be there this Sunday, so someone ELSE has a chance to win for once!    :P  )

They do work in California? Are you sure?

...wait a second, now I understand.  You are being brought in to do their work FOR them.  Makes sense now.

...which doesn't change the fact that we are going to make fun of you for missing yet ANOTHER multigun match.

Everyone else is going to be there, right?  So we can all tell him how great it was, and what he missed?

Just occurred to me that I didn't post the link to the scores.  Number of shooters was a little smaller than normal (only 36 shooters instead of around 40--and if you didn't come, you missed out because the weather was GREAT) and the stages were a TON of fun.  (In particular, I liked the rifle-only stage, even though I screwed up on it with a no-shoot hit.)

Plus, you know, Jake was gone at a major multigun match, so someone else got a chance to win.  :)

It was a good time---and now you have to wait until July for the next one!

(We do, however, have a USPSA match in a couple of weeks, and even better, the Man Vs Man match in the middle of May!)

Ah! Just saw this now. Thanks Thomas. :) I had a very good match!

And I'm glad you guys enjoyed stage 5. That was my creation... I need to come up with some more ideas. Some with fewer walls. :P
