Gun control agenda
« on: May 02, 2013, 08:39:44 PM »
This pretty much firms up my suspicions about Feinstein's agenda.
True to legislation, the laws already exist, nothing is done to enforce the law. Another law is passed to free up more money. When they couldn't get federal money, they had to hit home.  Would be interesting to see how much they actually follow up on.

Quote
California Governor Jerry Brown signed into law Wednesday a measure that increases funding to confiscate the tens of thousands of weapons owned illegally throughout the state.

SB 140, authored by Mark Leno (D-San Francisco), allocates $24 million to identify and seize assault weapons owned by convicted criminals and individuals with serious mental illnesses.

"Today, each California community is a step closer to being safer," Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg (D-Sacramento) said in a statement. "This swift action by the Legislature and the Governor to enforce the laws we already have is a wise and worthy investment to reduce gun violence."

Leno's bill was one of 30 gun control bills authored by California legislators in the wake of the Sandy Hook shooting massacre in Newtown, Conn., that left 20 children and six adults dead. Other measures include background checks on ammunition purchases, a requirement that all gun owners use lock boxes and expanding the list of criteria one must meet before owning a firearm.

California has a three-year backlog of some 40,000 guns illegally owned by nearly 20,000 residents, according to the state's Bureau of Firearms. Authorities have been unable to confiscate the weapons due to staffing and funding shortages.

Quite frankly,  it is time that freedom loving Americans  who respect ALL of the Constitution leave California to the sad ending of its trip down Marxist Lane.

Extrapolating farther.  After they  completely destroy small businesses and the middle class, they'll petition the federal government to send them money from other states in order to continue paying welfare to those who think that the purpose of government is to supply everything they want but without personal responsibilities.  Welfare cheats.  People who can physically do anything they want, except work.  Social services encourages these  people because without them asking for money they wouldn't have a job.  It's a vicious circle, for the country a death spiral down the Marxist drain.   Hello Venezuela.

Interestingly enough, several CA cities have recently filed for bankruptcy. Getting federal money is about the only way CA politicians can hope to gain funding to retain any sort of power (money=power).

It would be nice to see CA fold in on itself, but large population gives it a lot of political precence. But as pointed out, control by dependancy eliminates the local soure of revenue (people with jobs paying taxes) and is unsustainable without outside money (letting the rest of us support CA).

Continued efforts to prevent CA from passing an federal legislation designed to funnel money (or power) their way could help to self-solve what they have become.
