Tactical rifle iPhone mount

I'm a little dumbfounded with this one.  I do wonder when the iPad mount will be out though.

I can see this being a lot easier to answer your iPhone while plinking.  lol

I am sure it has a video function, so if nothing else, look forward to more thrilling you tube gun videos.

Where and how this is mounted is rather precarious, and would seem to block the target.   Looks like a watermelon on the hood of a Buick.

Now if it were mounted on the side, and could be hinged out of a protective transformer enclosure when needed, that would be pretty cool.   I tried looking for the app to download it to my iPhone, but no such app (yet?)   Will have to wait and see.  I could see making your own mount with the help of a machine shop, and using their app.   This would also allow you to use the mounted iPhone for other apps.  Weather, GPS, tracking other iPhones, pizza delivery shops.  The possibilities are endless.

I'd try this "for the lulz," but I can't see using it for anything serious... And at the pricepoint, I'd rather shell out a little more and get something like a Primary Arms scope.

I've probably dropped mine at least 10 times since I bought it last July and it's still working.   ;D

About the only thing I see neat about it is the ability to record shots.  What will they think of next.

I've owned an original iphone, iphone 3gs, and an iphone 4.

Generally speaking, they don't care about drops.

That said, my i4 did drop from about 3 feet onto concrete to crack the glass.

But, all three phones have survived tumbles down a flight of concrete stairs and numerous drops on concrete etc... only the one magical drop of the i4 has rendered one inoperable.

I've been playing with the idea of getting an iphone mount for my spotting scope for just this purpose. Now that I have a decent spotter, I will probably forge ahead with this idea :)

I don't think this is in the software of this app yet, but the app could teach itself to zero in on the target, based on where the shots are landing, and adjust itself automatically.

This app has real shooting possibilities.  Too bad the mount is so dopey.

There are other rifle mounts for the iPhone already.

There are also ballistics apps for some serious shooting.
