July 7th Basic Carbine Course
« on: June 16, 2013, 03:23:57 PM »
Nebraska Shooters is hosting another DCPrecision Basic Carbine course on Sunday July 7th. Come out and learn how to really shoot that AR you've got in the safe (or AK). This is our Basic course and starts out in the classroom for a short period of time where we cover the fundamentals but quickly moves onto the range where things start to speed up. By the end of the day you will be performing at much more than a "basic" level. This is a great course for beginners and experienced shooters alike, no matter your level you will leave as better shooter than you came. If you want to start or already compete in 3 gun much of the information and techniques taught will apply directly and make you more competitive. You can expect to leave with the following skills...

Proper zero theory, proper load and press check techniques, emergency and tactical reloading techniques, multiple shooting positions, proper technique for clearing malfunctions, balance of speed vs accuracy, proper transition to secondary weapon, establishment of speed shooting baselines, and a knowledge of practical drills to do on your own after the class to continually improve your skill.

Course Fee: $125
Round Count: 300 Rifle / 100 Pistol

This is a great class.  I have been shooting on the AR platform since 1988 and learned tons from this "basic" course.  Great instructor.  If you have the time, go.  If you don't have the time, cancel something, and go. You will not regret it, you may even have a great time, and will find your skills much improved as a result. If your relatively new to the AR platform, this will give you some solid fundamentals to build off of.  If you have been doing it for a while, you will learn new stuff and be "reminded" of things you have forgotten.

Go.

We will also be holding an Advaced class the following weekend. To attend the Advanced you must have graduated the basic.. We don't normally advertise the advanced on here for that reason. It covers some of the more unorthodox shooting positions, non-dominant weapon hand manipulation, shooting while moving, and stress inoculation is a recurrent theme throughout. If you really like to shoot, this is the course for you.
