I really think the big difference between the NRA and the Obama administration is, the NRA and most gun owners want to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and those who might misuse them and Obummer and his henchman would like to take them away from every law abiding citizen.  To do so he must keep them in the hands of murders. Yet somehow he makes gun owners and the NRA look like the bad guys.

That treaty can only be enforced by a national gun registration, which would eventually lead to gun confiscation.  Exactly how the English lost their firearms.

The only way that treaty can be enforced in this country is to nullify the 2nd Amendment.  I suspect that the anti-gun crowd will adopt that approach.   Members of their community have already hoisted that flag,  by calling it an "outmoded document",  to see how many would solute.

This battle will be the defining fight for the future of the Rule Of Law in the country, and the Constitution on which it is based.   Considering the recent Benghazi, AP and IRS scandals the Constitution has experienced a severe jolt, which adds  to the slow motion shredding that has been taking place since 1968, the same year the Radical Left captured the Democrat Party during the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago.

I'm kinda curious how he's allowed to sign the Treaty without Senate approval first.

I'm sure there's precedent for this kind of thing... but... how I read it is opposite of how it's being done ?

How were the nuclear arms treaties and such handled ?

Quote from: Constitution:2(2)
He shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur;

Now, he didn't "make" (as in author/create) the Treaty, but you could prolly easily say that "entering" into the Treaty is "making" it.  Not a Constitutional lawyer, etc etc etc.

edit: and the Document itself says "Consent of the Senate" ... this implies getting permission first ?

He can sign it but it isn't worth anything until the Senate approves it.  The current assesment is that Obama doesn't have a chance of getting 67 votes for approval.
