For you bullet caster's
unfy:
I haz pipe!
Pleasure to meet ya, too :)
M7025-06:
You too.

So...
A friend and I played with the pipe for a while...
Drop it on the ground (concrete) and it just makes a thick 'thump' sound and immediately settles. No bouncy bouncy tingy wingy like you'd get with a normal pipe. Same for if ya toss it up into the air a bit.
As seen in the pics above, there's one section that was easy to flex back and forth to break off ... hit that smaller section against concrete and it too just makes a thick 'thump' sound and immediately settles without much (if any) of a bounce.
Who knew a lead pipe could be so much fun!
Hehehehe.
Also, it lends a lot of credence to the ole "butler in the library with a lead pipe" stuff. I'd *HATE* to get hit by the 18-24inch section or so that broke off. That's just pure crushing abuse.
Oh, with the age given (1917), contents of the pipe (or lack there of), and other stuff... we're assuming it's a water line, btw.
M7025-06:
Glad you like your new toy.
From what I gathered from the utility contractor...it had a phone running through it but was abandoned a while back.
M7025-06:
I picked up another 4' piece of lead pipe. Who wants it?
