I like this amendment to US Senate Bill 1390: (Defense Appropriations for 2010)

Amendment 1618 would force all states to recognize all states CCW permits

I doubt this will see the light of day with the current makeup of Congress, but doesn't hurt to call and write Nelson and Johanns on this.

We need to tie this to the gay marriage license, then the darn thing would pass looking at the current house and senate.

The Senate vote on the Thune-Vitter amendment fell two votes short, 58 to 39 if I heard correctly.  It needed 60 votes to pass.

The roll call isn't up yet on the Senate website.  Still, I'd hope the simple majority sent a message.
