The stolen guns include: Olympic models AK-47 and AR-15, a Ruger 9mm pistol, a Colt .38 caliber Cobra pistol, a Winchester .22 caliber rifle and a Remington model 7400 rifle with scope.
Among the variety of ammunition stolen was a wooden crate containing 5,000 rifle rounds.
Authorities believe someone broke into the locked 1995 International school bus sometime within the past five months and stole the items, as well as 50 DVDs, a power inverter, a digital camera and a bone handled hunting knife. The theft was reported Sunday.
The guns were all privately and legally owned, said Lancaster County Sheriff's Sgt. John Vik. An incident report lists the owner as a 65-year-old Lincoln resident.
Vik said it is unknown whether the weapons have since been used in a crime. He declined to discuss whether authorities have any suspects in the case. No arrests had been made as of Monday evening.
