In a blatant violation of the constitution's guarantee of "due process" Gov. Chris Christie signed a law banning firearm ownership for those who are on terrorist watch list....

"One of the new laws will disqualify any person on the federal terrorist watch list from obtaining firearms identification cards or permits to purchase handguns.

Civil liberties advocates have criticized the watch list for its secrecy. The list is not public, nor can one petition to have his name removed from it. There were about 420,000 names on the watch list as of 2011. It has swollen to nearly 900,000 as of this year."

I actually think Christie is worse than Obama.  They don't really have any difference in their political views, but Christie tries to pass himself off as a conservative.

Nothing like not only losing due process but not even knowing you're breaking the law because you're guilty in secret of being on a "watch" list... wth
"Well-regulated" meant well equipped, trained and disciplined... not controlled with an iron fist.

When a secret list like this is used to deny people's rights it is just a matter of time before the names of political dissidents and other troublemakers end up on it.  We live in a society where the taxation authority of the government is used to restrict political speech opposed to the regime in power.  We are almost there already.

Denying gun purchase permits to people on terror watch lists?  I had thought it was the purchase of guns which got you on their list...  ???

As far as Christie is concerned, I've never been real impressed. Seems odd to me how someone so heavy could be so sensitive to which direction the winds are blowing. (I know, gratuitous fat joke, it couldn't be helped.)  ;D
