New compact 9mm from Remington:

I'd post the article but it's pretty big.

I can't figure out what these words mean. You should never get done, lol.

Really though, it and the Glock 42 do not appeal to me. I would buy another Shield if looking for that size of a weapon.

Can't say I really care for the looks.  Kind of reminds me of one of those old plastic disc guns.  Interesting how the action works, though.

It looks a little like a Makarov.

It looks like the unholy offspring of a Polish P64 and a Walther PPK...( i just got the full body shiver y'all)

It is interesting for a few reasons- NOT plastic, unique (not merely unusual but genuinely unique) operation and, most of all, price: $389 msrp!

I like the looks too.

I wonder what the street price will be?  With an MSRP of $389 I bet some places will have it for under $300.  If it's reliable I could learn to like the looks for that price.

I had an original Remington 51 in 32acp, until someone offered me too much money in a weak moment.  It was a great pistol, I liked it better than a Colt 1903, and those are great guns.  I will have one of these on my list for this year.   :D

I always thought "I'm done buying guns" was manspeak for "I just got married" ;)

I am intrigued. The styling? I'm not sure about. Funky for sure, but very smooth for holstering (as I understand that's what they were going for).
The mechanics is interesting also. Essentially a slight pause in the brass coming out of chamber to allow the bullet to leave the barrel and all pressure to drop? IF I'm understanding it correctly?

Yeah, sounds like it's similar to a straight blowback system, but has a built in delay that increases reliability.  Interesting concept.

I dunno, at first I thought it was fugly, but it's growing on me.

I've been really thinking hard about an LC9. Now, I think I'll wait for one of these.

I like metal guns and this size is more amenable to a belt holster than a pocket anyhow. The low bore axis should make recoil manageable.

I also thought it looked a bit weird (like a walther ppk and a beretta nano had a baby) but it's growing on me.

Potential alternative to a Kahr CW9.

I do like the metal part.  Nothing against polymer, since I own both kinds.  Interesting to see how this feels.

Honestly...it reminds me of a Buck Rogers toy from the 50s.  But what the heck, I'll probably buy one if the price is right.  Might be a good long term investment.  Well, maybe not being as I'm a septuagenarian.

Cheers and enjoy the new year.

You guys who say this thing is growing on you had better scrape it off.

Hey, for a carry gun, the only view I care about is the one over the sights.
