As of 10:30 this morning, they had 32 more in stock. Not sure of make/model, but if anyone's still looking, they're there.
-
online? Because i was in the store and there wasn't a darn thing. except over-priced ammo, that i bought.
don't judge me:)

Crap, I should have been more specific! Cabela's store in La Vista. They aren't on display, but are there if you ask. I finally got the High Point .45 I've been wanting, but again, it wasn't on display.
-
You wanted a Hi Point?
-
Yes :-X
I own several firearms already, from an 1897 Arisaka Type 30 (intact) to a Bushmaster AR-15. I own several older Mossberg .22s and an odd Mossberg 200K shotgun. The High Point seemed like a quirky, but pretty cool carbine that I don't happen to have yet, well, do now. Besides, I owned nothing in pistol caliber before this :)
-
I was just kidding with you. Pistol caliber carbines are tons of fun
-
Cliff,
Do you own a Mossy 42m?
-
Hmmm... My nephew just called them.
The guy he talked to said he "hasn't seen any lately".
-
Wasn't any there last night,,,,
-
Cliff,
Do you own a Mossy 42m?
No, but wish I did. Closest thing I have is a 44US(b).
Just called Cabela's myself, just now, 3:20 PM and spoke with Jim at the new gun counter. The 32 received in this morning are gone. They processed more in and as of this moment, have 2 left.
-
I just went up there 10 minutes ago. They had one AR left. A $1900 Black Rain

I wonder if the guns on layaway will have to leave the store also? I lucked out and found a trade for one of my 1911’s. Just a fixed handle dpms, but better than nothin i guess.

I was up there when you were up there. I waited in line to see if there were any AR's. This employee told me that the only AR left was a $2199 AR that I would have to put $600 to put on layaway. I asked him if there were any type of waiting lists or if he was getting any news about when they might be able to order AR's again, and he told me that Congress would decide this weekend about the future of firearms. Not only that, but if they decide to ban various guns, they will immediately have to take the "banned" inventory and put it in trucks to take off the property, as they won't be able to sell them likely after this weekend. Then he told me that I should get this AR now, as he doesn't think I will be able to get one after this weekend. He kept throwing the word "if" around, but then he would reaffirm his statement by saying that this will likely happen this weekend.
People must say stupid things when I'm not working...

I wonder "if" this guy has any idea what he is talking about.

Sounds like he is quite the salesman. 'You must buy this now or you wont be able to ever again' works because it scares people into buying.

It makes me cringe when I'm there and listen to the salespeople tell lies to customers. We were there a while ago and one of the salesmen told a guy that there was a waiting period to purchase rifles in this state. That he had to put his gun on lay away and apply to the state to get a permit to buy the rifle. The guy he was talking to kept telling the salesman that he had a pistol purchase permit and the salesman kept trying to tell him that he needed a permit to purchase a rifle! I really think they need to screen their employees better.

Sometimes I ask a sale person a question I already know the answer to in order to see if they know what they are talking about, bullguanoting, or at least willing to admit they don't know (which I honestly don't mind that much, no one knows everything).
Feigning ignorance is trick I learned from my dad, as he would say: "If you let someone talk, they'll tell you exactly how stupid they are."
ANY big box store is 90% know-nothing bullguanoters, and a decent percentage of smaller shops have their share, but usually to a lesser extent. No offense to anyone here.
-
I've heard some complete BS from small stores too *cough* Acher Arms *cough*
Scheels in Lincoln seems to have pretty decent guys in the gun department. I haven't bought a gun from Cabelas in probably 15 years so I can't comment there, but I would venture a guess that they've staffed up both for the holiday season and the election, so they probably brought in some guys who weren't quite up to par. The few times I've talked to guys at the gun counter there I've had a mix of people who knew their stuff and guys who obviously knew nothing.

Haha thats funny I often do the same thing before asking them questions that I don't know and trusting their advice or 'expertise'.

Apparently so. Anyways, he was a skinny male about 5"8 130-150 lbs. with dark hair, in his late 20's-early to mid 30's. He's almost always at the gun counter when I go there.
Makes sense. He voted for Obama because he thought "the other guy" would take away guns...
-
I won't buy a gun from Scheele's in Lincoln after one of their salesmen told me "you don't want a 9mm, women can only handle .22's" I WENT OFF on him and his manager! It was not a pretty sight. ;)
-
Wish I was a fly on the wall on that conversation. :)

Yeah, that's always an interesting experience. Takes all types I guess...
I was at Walmart yesterday, 4 guys hovering around the gun counter about delivery time just in case something showed up, not sure what would happen if 1 AR showed up. Might have to grab a camp chair and some popcorn to watch the entertainment.
-
I am always amused at the BS I here when visiting Acher, it's become a reliable source of entertainment.

OMG, that couldn't have been pretty, but I woulda paid good money to watch. ;)

Sheesh, my 14 year old daughter loves shooting the AR-15 more than any other. Yes, she owns a couple of .22s and now the High Point .45 mentioned earlier, but it will forever be impossible to get her to part with "my" AR.
-
I went tonight and they told me they had some in earlier and were all gone. They told me there are no reservations nor a waiting list.
Then some goony guy comes up and they get one out for him.. It was a DMPS oracle definately a .223. How did he do that?
-
probably paid for it at an earlier date.
I did notice that DE Guns seemed to have a couple ARs on the shelf, not sure if they were all .22, but i know one was for sure.
I've basically stopped looking. It's all i can do to find parts to finish my current build, let alone try and buy up everythign else.
-
That doesnt makes sense as then they got the paperwork out, maybe it was layaway who knows.
-
I'm guessing lay-away too. I had the same thing happen, but I was the one they were holding it for :)
-
I got in an argument with a woman at the gun counter in Cabelas. She told me it was illegal to sell guns with threaded barrels because of "the accessories you can put on them". As she was standing in front of the AR's and AK's the whole time. I was tired of dealing with stupid so I left.

I stopped buying guns at Cabelas years ago. Now I buy them at Scheels with my Cabelas Visa, and for less than they would have cost me at Cabelas.

I agree about Cabela's, I was there on Monday AM, it was a zoo. I bet there were 150 people standing and waiting for their number to be called. I looked around and really didn't see any deals at all, maybe I was missing something. I looked around in the bow dept but couldn't find a sales person within 30 minutes. I left empty handed and had to walk about a mile to my vehicle.
I stopped by Scheels in Lincoln and there were plenty of salesmen in the fun dept to go around and they had more inventory (ammo, reloading equip/supplies, cases, etc.) than Cabela's did. Stopped in the bow dept there too, got what I needed from a very knowledgeable sales person and was out in under 20 minutes.
I do prefer to support my local small shops and NFOA sponsors whenever possible. I find the prices better, and customer service right on top. I've shopped at DE Guns numerous times over the past week or so and found what I needed and had a pleasant experience. However, it has been nutt to butt though recently, they could use a little wider store.....

LOL. Laughed a lot... They totally need wider isles.
