At the very least he likely has a whale of a headache!
Two bystanders, one with a hatchet, tried to stop the man outside the store. One of the clerks grabbed the hatchet and hit the man's head several times, reports say, but he still got away.

It begs the question. What is the bystander doing outside of a liquor store at 10:30 at night with a hatchet? Enquiring minds want to know. LOL.---Mike.

Well its good the clerk didn't fire the shotgun at the robber after he fled the store. If I remember correctly we have the duty to retreat unless it is in our own home. The Lincoln prosecutor would have been on that like flies on poop. Sadly :(

Purely speculation; Open carry of a hatchet would be one of the few ways a "reformed felon" has for personal protection.

I think possessing a hatchet is a God-given right.
