Title: Take Aim-Bellevue. what a nice place to go
Post by: 2550sx on October 02, 2014, 07:34:41 PM
My first trip to Take Aim in Bellevue tonight. I was Very pleased with the experience. If you haven't been there yet I would recommend highly. Compared to the other choice in the Omaha Metro.

Take Aim is a really nice facility.  Friendly folks, although a tad expensive.  But, that's ok, it's worth it.  Every time I've been there, it's extremely clean.

RobertH, if you go, drop me a line and will meet ya there.  It's only a couple of miles down the road from the house.

My only complaint with this facility is that they DO NOT ALLOW draw from a holster, except on one evening a week under the supervision of their owner. I tried to explain my qualifications to them, NO Exceptions was their answer. I am well known at the Bullet Hole and will do my business there.

Most indoor ranges, during general public practice, don't allow draws from a holster.  (Some even limit the speed at which you shoot.)  That's pretty common.  Annoying, but common.

For me, even though I hear that Take Aim is a great place, I can't handle the idea that shooting for an hour will cost me $22, plus a buck per target when I can print/copy targets for about $0.10 per target.

That's---just too much for me.  Even for being able to shoot indoors in good weather. Especially if I can't practice from a holster, and can only shoot in one direction while other people blast away around me.

YMMV, of course. That's just me.

The Bullet Hole lets you draw from a holster during general public practice?  Huh.  I didn't know that.  On the other hand, it has been a LONG time since I've gone to the Bullet Hole.

Did Take Aim get a FFL yet so that a beginner can rent/try various guns before they decide what fits them best.

Do not believe that they have an FFL yet.
I do not understand how they can have a successful business without selling firearms and accessories or some other merchandise for sale?
Even at $11.00 per half hour range rental and at $.75 to a $1.00 per target.
