anyone have one? thoughts? I think I want one, cheap 22lr/mag single action only, looks to be a great just walking the acerage and plinking stuff gun, which is all i'm looking for.
They are pretty cheap and my birthday is quickly approaching.....
any first hand experience? and no, I don't want to know what the youtube video you watched said.

I had one. Great little singla action for the price. I think Ne Bull wound up with mine a while back.

Decent for the money. pretty accurate, also. I haven't had any issues with it.

$150 - $200
Cabelas has a nice one with the green/ camo laminate in .32 H&R Mag if you want something a little more than .22 (And probably easier to find ammo ;) )

cabelas has them listed online at $199
I'm sure if I shopped around I could get one cheaper, I've heard ones that don't come with the 22 mag cylinder are a bit cheaper as well, to me tracking one down online, ordering it paying shipping and FFL isn't worth it to end up saving only a couple bucks compared to buying it at cabelas.

Trade N Post in Fremont usually has some - under $200.00. Comes with a .22 and a .22 Mag cylinder..

I've seen the .22LR only ones for less than $150 ish
UpCrawfish- how are those been holding up, or have they got a chance at many rounds yet?

NE Bull.... ours are holding up well.. only had 400- 500 .22 rds down each one. we have not shot any .22 mags yet but thinking about it. may have to slip that into the ammo order ???

I got one for my dad for his retirement a couple years ago. My brother in law also has one. IMO, for the price, they can't be beat. Both are holding up well and see a typical amount of use. My dad also like the .22 mag option, and has killed a larger critter or two with it.

I'd take a well-worn H&R over a Heritage any day, but that's just me.

was at cabelas yesterday evening and I handled one, felt good.
long story short i bought it, but the wife took it won't let me play with it until my birthday.....
and yes if anyone was at cabelas last night I was the guy who didn't bring the diaper bag and his kid shat himself and it stunk something terrible.... that was me, sorry about that

I have to agree based on my experience with a Heritage Arms Rough Rider that I bought twelve years ago. It seemed like I was forever tightening screws on that thing (I was not keen on loctiting it, though some blue loctite probably would have done the trick). Within a year of buying it, a flat spring broke. I ended up just giving it to my dad.
Bottom line: The Heritage revolvers are a bargain and everything, but they are cheaply made guns, too. There is nothing the matter with buying a cheap gun for some range fun, but when I got another rimfire revolver I ended up getting a Ruger Single-Six. I am much more impressed with it.

the feeling i'm getting is most of them that were purchased more than a couple years ago are pretty rough.
I just handled one yesterday, and a ruger and the action on the heritage felt better
they were sitting side by side in the case at cabelas.
we'll find out how mine shoots and works soon enough

I have a High Standard Double Nine that my Father bought for me at a TG&Y store in Jacksonville, Arkansas in 1967. I have not shot it in ages, but my recollection is that it is a quality piece of equipment and was a lot of fun to shoot. Don't know if they are still available, and if so, what the price would be.
