Title: S&W Model 442 Snubby
Post by: ABN207 on February 06, 2010, 06:48:54 PM
The S&W 442, J-frame (hammerless) is a nice little carry gun.  It will accommodate the +P ammo too and has decent stopping power.

I also carry the Ruger SR-9 and really like it.

I have a 642 (same gun except for the finish), and it is my main concealed carry weapon. I like the fact that it fits in a pocket of just about any pants or jacket, so I don't have to base my wardrobe around the fact that I'm carrying. To me, single action with no exposed hammer is ideal for the purpose. The heavy trigger pull is all the safety I need. The only downside is that the recoil stings a bit due to the light weight, which means it's not as much fun to practice as it could be.
