Title: Tul-Ammo issues in PX4 magazines
Post by: OnTheFly on February 10, 2012, 09:14:42 PM
Odd thing shooting tonight.  I purchased a couple boxes of 9mm Tul-Ammo to give it a try.  I previously shot Tul-Ammo in my AR-15 without any issues, but the PX4 magazines were not a good fit for this ammo.  The gun shot it fine, but after loading 10 rounds in my 17 round magazine, the follower would get stuck.  I would take the magazine out of the loading device and the rounds would just fall out.  A couple of times I had to smack the butt plate of the magazine pretty hard to get the follower to move.

At first I thought it may have been my error in re-assembling the magazines after I cleaned them.  But I pulled it apart and verified it was put together correctly.  Tried another 10 rounds and got the same thing.  This happened with all three of my spare magazines.  So I switched to WWB ammo and the problem went away.  Something about the coating on that steel case ammo that the PX4 magazines did not like.

Oh well...now I know.
