Title: Un-New-York-ify an AR-15
Post by: terminalvelocity16 on February 17, 2014, 06:38:36 PM
I recently moved out of New York State to get away from all the weirdos. Unfortunately while I lived there my entire life I purchased an AR-15 that complied with
the assault weapons criteria and my AR-15 came with a pinned stock, and a pinned flash suppressor. I have since replaced the pinned stock with a new collapsible one, However I'm curious if anyone has any experience with/knows someone who does/knows a gunsmith who does know anything about removing my pinned flash suppressor. It appears to be a drift pin that has been soldered/welded in place. I realize trying to remove this probably requires splitting the entire flash suppressor off the barrel. So does anyone have any good news for me? If at all possible I'd like to do this and not completely destroy the muzzle/crown/threads. Thanks all!

Adco will do it for $40:

Oh, and congratulations on your escape to a free state!

Thanks fro the link guys. Unfortunately I think the whole thing is soldered on there as well as being pinned, Which adco does not have a solution for. I might just have to replace the entire barrel the way this is going. Leave it to the glorious Republik of New York.

1. Remove barrel. Many here could help you with that.
2. Purchase new barrel of your choice.
3. Install new barrel. See #1 above.
4. Sell old barrel to some poor soul back in New Yorkistan for them to install on a neutered AR15.
5. Shoot your AR15 with multiple evil features while laughing maniacally.
