Title: New Deer Rifle
Post by: Hardwood83 on April 10, 2012, 11:50:28 AM
PSA 6.8spc upper 18" SS barrel, Viking 15" ff rail, PSA lower with MAGS EFX-A1 Stock. Got it put together, haven't fired it yet so not sure what I'll do with the optic and sling yet, but these will get me started. I've ordered a few mags and should be all I need. I intend to use it as a hunting rig, so not going to be a high volume shooter- which is good because 6.8 is fairly expensive and out of stock most places.

For hunting big game in Nebraska make sure that any magazine in posession while afield cannot hold more than 5 rounds.

Here is what I have been using in 6.8:

It has excelant expansion and does a good job of dropping most anything, performs as well as any .270.

They also occasionally have seconds that make a good target round.

-I have 2 5 round mags en route from Midway as we speak.

-I also went back & forth between the .300blk & 6.8. Settled on the 6.8 for hunting....but there may be a .300 in my future especially since I already have a SBR lower.

-Thanks for the advice, I've been checking SSA for a few weeks but they've been sold out...along with most other places. I read somewhere that they are waiting on the bullets from Sierra. I got a couple boxes of Hornady 120gr SST's to get me started.
