Title: Is it wrong to be excited about a box of boxes ?
Post by: unfy on September 20, 2016, 08:33:36 PM
Is it wrong to get excited to open a box of ... boxes ?

Ordered some ammo boxes from MidwayUSA and was excited to get them (facepalm).

Reloading is a disease.  Talk to your loved ones about it.

Here is a great place to get boxes, they are small than those with inserts, they are like 22 LR boxes where the shells are just stacked inside. and a pretty good price, my last order from them was for 1200 boxes

That's interesting.

I usually just wait until Midway or MTM has a sale on thier MTM-RM-100 boxes. Just snagged 4 for $12.

I've been reloading for more years than I can count and I gave up on those boxes many years ago and store reloads in everything from 820 tracer containers to plastic mixed nut jugs to the berry's plastic bullet boxes to everything in between. I throw the boxes that people give me away. In the beginning, I tried using the boxes and even bought a few to keep things neat but I started running out of space so I had to improvise. I even used to store all the boxes and ammo in my safe but ran out of room there as well so I bought a metal cabinet and bulk packed every Caliber I load in it and I'm running out of space there as well. I admit, I have issues.

I dump all my reloads straight from my Dillon into a kitty litter bucket.  But it's a tactical kitty litter bucket.

I case gauge all the ones I'm going to shoot---if they pass, they are okay as match ammo.  If they fail, they are practice ammo.

If I _didn't_ case gauge, there would be the occasional ammo issue during a match, and that would drive me nuts.  :)

I've got kitty buckets.

I've got other buckets / bins / etc too.

I just... this is kinda meant for a bit longer storage.  So it's going into boxes.

Although - I had ahold of a full styrofoam trays by one side and it snapped in half.  I'll admit to nearly losing my temper :D

Otherwise, so far I'm fine with the boxes.  They seem to scratch and OCD itch (or something).

I've been known to call reloading a "disease" :D

I've also usually greeted folks new to reloading with the phrase:

... ONE OF US ...
... ONE OF US ...
... ONE OF US ...

But it's a tactical kitty litter bucket.

So is it painted Black or Camo ? :o :P

We have an old tactical kitty box that the Cat use to play in  :D ;D  ;) (tactical: in that it's torn all to hell and scratched up)
