NEBRASKA SPORTSMEN’S FOUNDATION
FIRST ANNUAL TEAM TRAP SHOOT FUNDRAISER
SUNDAY OCTOBER 6TH, 2013
1: OO PM –5:00 PM LINCOLN IZAAK WALTON LEAGUE
1081 South 134th street Lincoln Ne
Cost is $25 per shooter...5 man teams cost $125.00 and we must register before Sept 23 or the price increases to $160 per team
I will captain the team and shoot Post 1 if I can find 4 other trap shooters that will join me in representing the NFOA at this fundraiser. I will need firm commitments before I shell out the registration fee, so please don't take a spot if you are not sure you can be there. If we have enough interest we can have more than one team, but there is not a lot of time to waste if we want to lock in the lower team fee.

I will take this a step further- For those of us not blessed with the power to consistently hit flying orange objects, How about we put together some funds for these fine gentlemen/ women?
I for one will sponsor DanW's entry fee- $25.
And if we happen to gather more than the entry fee, we can sponsor some ammo.

i would but for two major obstacles...One, i do not have an trap gun. Two, I get the dubious pleasure of enjoying my employment sunday afternoons.

My daughter would like to shoot for team NFOA. I would also shoot but would just pull the team score down. It's more difficult to hit those little orange disks than it looks like.
PS. you don't need to have a "trap" gun, any shotgun you are comfortable with will work.

Ha! That would be awesome. In all seriousness, though, I've shot trap with a Mossberg 930 JM Pro (set up for 3-gun competition). The only bad thing about it is that it flings hulls at the guy next to you. We have 2 commitments and I need 5... I have to get this entry/registration thing done before the 14th when I go on vacation unless someone else wants to step up and handle the money and mail in the entry

It looks like me and my trusty ol Mossy 500 are going to have to step it up. Heck, Dan is gonna have to give me crash course in trap shooting. I'm not the guy that should be representing Team NFOA in a shotgunning match, so somebody PLEASE step up. As of right now I have three entry fees covered by donations, so most likely you'll bring gun and ammo and just shoot.

As in me shooting trap? I've done that twice in my life and I sucked at it. Besides I'm out of town for work that week.
Or did you mean you need help in the form of incessant whining? THAT I can do. ;D
Come on folks! Do you own a shotgun? Do you shoot trap or even bird? Then help Dan out and get a winning team together. Make us proud!

The only two shotguns I have are set up for home defense / multigun competition. A 20" barrel with rifle sights and an 8 round tube probably isn't ideal for trap ;D

Hey BK, I'll loan ya an old Remmy 870 24" with extended mag tube. Has been upgraded with wood furniture- better for shooting flying objects. ;)

SFG is on "the" list, I am keeping track of it while Dan is trying to take a vacation.
By my count we have Four (Dan W, Briann A, Sparkey, and SFG) solids and two alternates (Andy A and Jeremy C) that can step up. Along with two or three donors volunteering to assist with fees.

It sounds like we have some members that would enjoy doing this but don't think they would perform that well. Maybe those folks could put together their own team, maybe a tactical team requiring 22 inch or shorter barrels?

Honestly, trap is just not my bag. I don't mind it, but it's not something I go out of my way to do. I was really just joking about shooting it with my tacticool shotgun.

OK gang I am finally up and running in New Mexico, but I do not have a secure link, so no admin stuff from me for 3 days when I return to Denver.
Thanks SFG! we now have enough commitments to register a team and I can do that when I return home next week end.
BTW Santa Fe area is pretty cool... I need to go find food..L8tr

I have the 24 inch barrel that came on my 870, easily swapped for the 18 if someone needs to borrow it. (someone should borrow it, I have had it a year and shot 25 shells through it)
