The Judiciary Committee has voted to move a red flag law proposal to the floor of the Legislature for possible debate. ….

Morfeld said he is considering whether to prioritize the bill, which would give it the best chance to get into the debate queue. Another senator could prioritize the bill or the committee could.

Don't you just love how the Lincoln paper tries to make this bill seem completely harmless.

"Due process is followed, allowing the respondent the right to a timely hearing before the protection order is made permanent."

A. That's not what due process looks like just because a judge makes the decision.
B. A 10 day notice isn't timely, what if you are on vacation out of the country and come home to find that you are in violation of an order you didn't know anything about in the first place and then they charge you with a Class 2 Misdemeanor for violating the order.
