Title: 2-bore muzzleloader

Check this out, a 2-bore muzzle loader:

That's right, a 2 bore.  It's 1.275" diameter :o  To get an idea of the size, he has a picture of the barrel (it's a smooth bore) with an 8 gauge ball resting inside:

Check out the video of him proof testing.  He loaded up with 1000 grains of FFg black powder and two solid lead balls.  He had it tied to a railroad tie, and it flung the railroad tie backwards like it was a piece of paper.  Normal load is one ball and something like 300-400 grains of powder.  Ouch.

Awesome craftsmanship, not sure I could make myself shoot it though.

I might try shooting it once.  If I was feeling especially masochistic that day.  But I still want one.

Here's his newest project, a 2-bore black powder cartridge rifle.

Check out the size of those cases!  I wonder if this would be legal at the monthly Ikes big bore silhouette shoot :D

More anecdotal evidence that just because you CAN do something, it might not be a good idea to actually DO it.........

...... I am thinking of all the time and effort that could have been used for something  useful.....
