Title: Stag Arms 16" Upper in 6.8 SPC
Post by: akclark on March 06, 2010, 09:26:59 AM
I was looking at 6.8 SPC uppers from stag arms. They have 16" Uppers with a 1/11 twist for 525.  http://www.stagarms.com/product_info.php?cPath=14_24&products_id=246

Even though the 6.8 SPC rounds are about a dollar each if you don't load your own, (compared to the 5.56 rouds at .45 each) the ballastics of 6.8 are supposedly super improved.

Obviously i would have to build a new lower to fit this ;)

I guess I'm worried cause I read that the round was supposedly designed for an 18 inch barrel and if i goto 16" I will loose 40fps for e@ch 100 feet.

I'd like to just it for hunting (to help me justify buying another one) and if I ever took a carbine course.

Anyone have any experience with AR15s in 6.8 SPC? What were your thoughts/experiences?
