... 29 counts of risk of injury to a minor ...
Police responded to Paterson’s home on Canaan Street on Tuesday morning for a reported domestic incident, police said. Paterson was not at the residence when officers arrived but returned home later and was taken into custody, police said.
The officers learned that Paterson had several guns registered in his name. Paterson took the officers into a bedroom where 26 firearms were found unsecured, most lying on a 7-year-old’s bed, police said. A large amount of ammunition was also found in the room.
There's a story here that's not being told. Firefighter has a bunch of firearms laid out on his son's bed ? For no reason ? Unlikely ? Did the boy even live with him ? etc ?

hummm.. Suspicious me, I smell a possible set up !!
He has an argument with wife/girlfriend and he leaves the house to 'cool off'.
Wife/girlfriend is still PO'ed and she has access to his gun safe.
She hauls a bunch of firearms out and places them around in plain sight in a child's room.
Calls the PD and reports alleged incident.
Police show up and are shown the guns in the room.
He show back up after his 'cooling off period' and walks into the trap.

Domestic Incident. People don't follow normal rules when they are thinking with hormones. Get two people with at odds hormones, not firing at the same time. and sparks start flying, and push turns to shove, and then it is Katie Bar The Door.
Storing firearms in a place where, two people have keys to that residence, and you had better know your partners mindset very very well. Even having the guns locked up, in a place where you argue with someone, is an invitation to trouble.

I don't need to worry about stuff like that with my wife. Don't need to worry about divorce, either.
If we have a serious relationship problem, she'll just shoot me, so it'll no longer be a problem!

I'd rather my wife chased after me with a gun than ran away from me with a credit card. The pain wouldn't last as long with the gun.

Not so sure on this one as Most Credit Cards do have Limits
Costs from Legal problems dealing with Guns ....Iffy at best
