No pre-emption in the Nebraska Concealed Handgun Act because legistators say that local control is too important.

Time for some e-mails.

Nebraska Unicam Gives OK To Statewide Smoking Ban

LINCOLN, Neb. -- A statewide smoking ban cities and counties can't opt out of has been approved by the Legislature.

The final vote came on Friday morning.

The ban on smoking in bars, restaurants and almost all other workplaces across the state will go into effect in June 2009.

Opponents of the bill said it could cripple businesses, while supporters said it would protect the health of residents.

Local control died with the Civil war over "slavery." (Not to mention cecession which is not prohibited in the Constitution then or now... Now if the South had "gone to court..." but they "opened fire" on Ft. Sumner and Lincoln could "put down" a rebellion... protect federal troops/ property, etc.)

Local attorneys have high paid easy jobs and are not going to cross the politicians unless they think it will get them fired/unelected. Gunnies don't have that kind of "clout..." Not yet...

Biggest political figure against smoking, AGAINST SMOKING, in the 20th Century???

A. Hitler...  (he is winning. Seig Heil.)
