Came across this on another forum I frequent. As I understand it this is not the first time this has been done either.

Thats F’d up. I know there was a list of names published of all NY gun owners. Might as well put a sign up for thieves and say “come rob me"
-
Maybe some patriot group should post the names and addresses of prominent anti-gun bigots, especially the ones in the liberal press who publish the names of permit holders.

I have little doubt that "The Journal" did this deliberately in the hope that thugs would target CHP holders by stealth in order to take the guns, so that "The Journal" could add stories of "guns failing to protect gun owners" to their anti-2A agenda.
-
A pro-freedom group like NRA should find names of prominent anti-gun bigots who have carry permits and publish those names (and addresses, etc.). They should also publish information about anti-gun bigots who have armed bodyguards. Names and addresses of media propagandists who levy political war against the Republic should also be published.

That is ridiculous. >:D
On a side note, I saw a prominent city official in the gun department of Scheels today. My first thought was, "Isn't he a member of (prominent city officials) Against Illegal Guns?" Then he asked for a pellet gun. So my second thought was, "Better not discharge that in city limits" LOL

As the law is written, shooting a pea out of a paper straw is considered a "firearm" and is illegal. So is using a rubber band to propel a paper spit wad or a paper clip.

Lincoln law or federal?
Federal law says it has to use an "explosive"(typically powder) to be a firearm.

I just want to make sure we're all on the same page for what a firearm is.

Post the names and addresses of every office holder at that paper along with their phone number. That way they won't be able to hide either.
-
Board of directors, will get addresses for them when I get time. Will be easier if they own property.

Partial list of the gun haters. Some of them have nothing on the internet and own no property. Or they are living under a corporation.

That's kinda handy for evil doers.
If I was a criminal, it's nice to know that a house might or might not have a firearm in it to protect themselves.
-
Pretty sure the bad guys in New York are not monitoring the NFOA forum for potential victim lists...

OHIO, in 2004, passed Concealed Carry legislation. Since then the number of legal permit holders exceeds 250,000.
The original legislation allowed news organizations access to the CCW database. They wished to 'compare the list of permit holders to those listed as committing crimes'. It did not take the news folks, who had an agenda, long to decide that it was in the 'publics best interest' to know who was carrying a firearm so they published the list in major Ohio newspapers.
There were lawsuits filed - lists of all newspaper editors and reporters personal data published - and in 2007, the legislature changed the law to access authority to 'viewing' only and in 2011, added the requirement of a court order to obtain any data base information. Needless to say, those in the news business were quite upset with the tables being turned on them.
It's going to take a lot of effort on the part of New York residents and firearm owners to overturn this practice.

City ordinance
Can you please explain to me how shooting a pea through a straw with your mouth constitutes a firearm with Lincoln city municipal code's definition of a firearm?
Firearm; Defined.
For purposes of Sections 9.36.100 and 9.36.110 of the Lincoln Municipal Code, “firearm” shall mean any weapon which is designed to or may be readily converted to expel any projectile by action of an explosive or frame or receiver of any such weapon including, but not limited to, any pistol, revolver, shotgun, or rifle. (Ord. 18158 §3; April 7, 2003).

Not a firearm per se, but still an illegal discharge of a projectile
9.36.050 Discharge of Weapons and Other Instruments Unlawful.
It shall be unlawful for any person, except as provided in this chapter, to fire or discharge, within the corporate limits, or on any property of the City of Lincoln outside of the corporate limits, any air rifle, toy pistol, toy gun, slingshot, or any other air, gas, or spring operated gun, weapon, apparatus, or instrument for the purpose of throwing or projecting missiles of any kind by any means whatsoever in such a manner as to endanger the safety of persons or property, whether the instrument is called by any name set forth above or by any other name.
(Ord. 15625 §5; July 9, 1990: P.C. §9.28.040: Ord. 9382 §2; January 22, 1968: prior Ord. 3489 §9-103; July 6, 1936).

I wonder if the "The Journal", in the interest of fairness, would publish the names of their city police officers who carry concealed weapons while off duty., along with the names of other local , state and federal agents who carry off duty?
Of course they wouldn't, and they know why. It would put those agents at risk, just as it puts civilians with legal CCW permits at risk. So, their exposure of all CCW permit holders (and they do not know if such holders even carry or still own guns, or not), is a cowardly attack on the safety of citizens obeying the laws.
-
And I thank you, Sir.

The quote from the original article in the Journal News: (I will not link to such a publication)
Told of Freeman’s determination, Ball, in a statement, said, “The county clerk has my full support to protect these law abiding citizens and if The Journal News thinks they can intimidate Putnam, they are sorely mistaken. Before I waver, the egghead editors at the Journal News can kiss my white, Irish behind.
