I have a one or two openings left for a Saturday, July 25 Course and several for a Saturday, August 1 Course. These are 1 day courses and successful completion will lead to an NRA Pistol Instructor Certification. E-mail me directly for enrollment or with any questions. TerryLane01@Windstream.Net Thanks and take care.

Thanks to all the interest folks. Still have two openings for the July 25th course and five for the August 1st class. To answer a couple of questions, each is a one long day class, no prerequisites, 3 written tests, no range work, approx. six hours of pre class study, cost is $90.00 with half as a deposit the remainder due the day of class. Hope that helps. Take care.

Is there anything else required to get the NRA certificate? What does it cost(besides the cost of the course you are teaching)?
-
Thanks for asking. Upon successful completion of the course (90% required on three written tests) for current NRA members $11.50 submitted with your Training Counselor signed application and approx. 4-5 weeks for processing, NRA membership is not required to be an instructor but processing and certification fees are $23.50 if you are not a member.
Through this course you will obtain the knowledge, skills and attitude to successfully teach the NRA Basic Pistol Marksmanship Course.
For the record, I'm a certified Instructor and Training Counselor in Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, Muzzleloading pistol, rifle shotgun, Home Firearm Safety, Metallic Cartridge Reloading, Shotshell Reloading, Range Safety Officer, Chief Range Safety Officer, Personal Prorection Inside the Home and Personal Protection Outside the Home.
Take care.

Terry-
Do you have any plans to teach a Instructor course for Personal Protection Inside & Outside the home?
Thanks!

Chris, I just finished Instructor Certification courses for PPITH in April and a PPOTH in May in Grand Island for several G.I. Police Officers. I'd be happy to conduct another but you need to be Certified Pistol and Certified PPITH before you can take the PPOTH for Instructor Certification. For non-Instructor you need to have taken Basic Pistol and Basic PPITH before you can take Basic PPOTH. Each of the courses (PPITH and PPOTH) is two very long day (4 days total or 2 weekends) with approx 300 rounds of ammunition (.38/9mm or larger) and lots of movement such as point shooting, threat assessment, low light, kneeling, prone, use of cover and concealment, lateral movement, weak hand shooting, etc. Cost is approx $300 for each course depending on classroom rental fees, range rental fees, and my expenses, which I never know until I have enough interested candidates to begin working on a course. Courses are best with at least 6 Candidates, 8 is better. But again, I'd do another if there was interest. Thanks and take care.

this sounds very very cool... is the July 25th course in Lincoln???
if so, I'm thinking I'm "there"
-
Thanks for the reply Terry.... Just keep me in mind if you put together another one of these courses, it is not a necessity for me, just interested in doing it.
-
Chris Z, will do. You're on the list of potential candidates. You're already NRA Pistol Certified I take it?
Dark Helmet were you talking about the NRA Basic Pistol Course? E-mail me directly if you're interested as we're approaching the point of no return for ordering class materials and getting the study ahead materials to the candidates in time for serious study.
Take care.
-
Yes Certified Pistol Instructor... Thanks
-
Terry, I'd like to take the instructor cert course, just don't know if the schedule will work... wife is due w/ baby #3 somewhere near there...
-
Dark Helmet. How 'bout I put you on the list to notify of future courses? I've already got three on the notify list. Maybe you'll be able to attend one yet this year. #3 Huh? Same as me but my youngest just had her 27th birthday. E-mail so I'll have your return e-mail and include your full name, address and NRA number. Thanks and take care.
