The bill has been initially approved , not passed... it has only had a voice vote to advance to the next round of debate.
It has to be voted on officially again in the House and them go to the Colorado Senate
-
Chance are, with the Democrat majority in both house and a Democrat governor, this will pass. I hope the people of Colorado resist.
-
if magpul is smart they will get some moving trucks and move to omaha!. I'd bet the house they will set up shop outside colorado by mid summer. Dems are gona get it next election cycle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Why on earth would MagPul come to this unfriendly business high tax environment, particularly Omaha???? Future Omaha Mayor Ashford would have a heart attack besides.
They've hinted they would move to Texas.
-
the omaha thing was wishfull thinking, it would be nice to have a major supplier in town, But Texas is probably more reality.

They won't. Most don't care, as long as it doesn't interfere with the arrival of their welfare checks, their dope supplies, or the flow of porn. And the dope dealers don't care because they don't follow laws anyway, so it will be citizens with 15 rnd mags against gangsters with 30 rnd or higher mags.
But, in the long run, most fights are over in just a few seconds and which ccw holder doesn't carry an extra clip of two? It's a symbolic "feel good" move by Leftist politicians to demonstrate that they "care".
What will be dangerous about it is that it will hasten the move to a bill which restricts the mag to 5 rounds (of which there are very few handguns that would qualify). That's the real purpose of the bill. Death by a thousand cuts. When murder rates go up because of that bill ....
-
Sigh.

The Colorado laws include a ban on ammunition magazines that can carry more than 15 rounds, and eight shotgun shells. The bill on background checks expands the requirement to sales and transfers between private parties and online purchases.
-
"I think it will make it more difficult for people to get guns who shouldn't have them, and that's really the goal," said Democratic Rep. Beth McCann on the expanded background checks.
Magazine limits would reduce gun violence and have an impact during mass shootings, because they would force gunmen to reload more times, she said. "It's an interruption in the spraying of bullets."
"I think".... not! And then she repeats the common lie among gun confiscators. What she isn't saying is what she intends: "...people who shouldn't have them" includes everyone. Then she proceeds to demonstrate how little she knows about magazines and how little "interruption" there is when a shooter drops the empty mag and plugs in a full one.
Passing these idiotic laws makes them feel self-righteous and they can brag about how much they've contributed to the "solution" of gun violence. But, these laws do nothing to help the mentally unstable or control the criminals. Law abiding gun owners are easy targets for those hip shooters.

......which will make all newly purchased magazines with a capacity over fifteen rounds illegal as of July 1, 2013. This bill is also so poorly written that it will make ANY MAGAZINE purchased after July 1 illegal to own due to fanatical language inserted by anti-gun extremist New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s puppets in Denver.
-
18-12-302. Large-capacity magazines prohibited - penalties -
9 exceptions. (1) (a) EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THIS SECTION, ON
10 AND AFTER JULY 1,2013, A PERSON WHO SELLS, TRANSFERS, OR POSSESSES
11 A LARGE-CAPACITY MAGAZINE COMMITS A CLASS 2 MISDEMEANOR.
12 (b) ANY PERSON WHO VIOLATES SUBSECTION (1) OF THIS SECTION
13 AFTER HAVING BEEN CONVICTED OF A PRIOR VIOLATION OF SAID
14 SUBSECTION (1) COMMITS A CLASS 1 MISDEMEANOR.
15 (c) ANY PERSON WHO VIOLATES SUBSECTION (1) OF THIS SECTION
16 COMMITS A CLASS 6 FELONY IF THE PERSON POSSESSED A LARGE-CAPACITY
17 MAGAZINE DURING THE COMMISSION OF A FELONY OR ANY CRIME OF
18 VIOLENCE, AS DEFINED IN SECTION 18-1.3-406.
So, this will make magpul, or their corporate owners felons, or just be charged with a misdemeanor??

The thin air has rotted their brains...They've taken the old hippie slogan of "Make Love not War" to imbecilic levels because you can get a steeper punishment for owning a couple of hi-cap mags than you would for molesting a couple of kids.
-
Damn tough.... the reps can turn so fast.
-
I can say this. I will never step foot in Colorado again. Its just that simple. I was looking forwards to an Elk hunt in the near future. I won't waste one cent towards anything in Colorado now.
-
The wife was say exactly the samething to me last night, as she said it was in the works for my son and I to try to get a permit for my 60th birthday present. She said that instead I'll have to go hog hunting instead.... I lub my wife.
-
A-Fixer, check out New Mexico for that Elk hunt. :-X
-
A-Fixer,
I would definitely check out Texas for a hog hunt. If you want intensity - try hog doggin'
Hogs & dogs is really fun.
;D
-
Looks like I won't be going to mortuary school in Colorado. I was planning on moving to Grand Junction to make a living after mortuary school too. They just lost a lifetime of business I would have brought them.
