Title: Anybody missing a Colt .45 auto?
Post by: armed and humorous on August 10, 2009, 09:50:39 PM
Friday night, the Lincoln police took one from some teenagers who held up a gas station in Lincoln a few days earlier.  They think it was a stolen firearm that has not been reported, perhaps because the owner is unaware it is missing.  Don't have anymore description than that, but if you check and find you have one missing, LPD would be a good place to check for it.

Oh yeah...dang! I wondered where that went to.  I can describe it.  It was thin, with a black finish, or possibly polished, I can't remember which.  It was a 1911 design. Yeah, I remember it shot 45ACP and the magazine holds eight rounds.  It is single action and it has a grip safety and thumb safety.  Oh yes, it had some kind of serial number on it, but I've misplaced the actual number.  Is that a close enough description?  Do you think the police would let me come collect my property?   ;D

I get that these are Colt 45s, but what makes them "auto"?  Do they pour themselves down your throat?  :)

With my luck it is a gun that was used in a crime and the po-po are using it as a lure to catch the guilty party(s).  Then I would spend 10 years in the pen for a crime I didn't commit just because I was trying to get a free 1911, and I am WAY too cute to be in jail.  ;D

Well, if some people get their way, and we get all 2A infringements removed, you could carry the 1911 even while you were in the jail! :)

They might.  I never remember what happened the morning after.  ;)
