Of Concealed Handgun Permit holders  ;D


It came in the mail on Saturday. I took my Glock 20 grocery shopping with me. (I used a cheap OWB holster I bought off Galls and threw my shirt over it). Nobody noticed it. It felt great considering doing that back in Illinois would net me a Felony arrest.

If you don't mind, Dtrain, what was you permit number?  I'm just curious how many of us there are now.  I hear there are other ways of finding out, but I'm not really sure where.

Thanks, Dtrain.  I know the first four numbers are the year (mine was 200700001), but I'm wondering now if the last digits are the number of permits issued that year, or the total of all permits issued.  I would guess the former, as I would think there were more than 2500 or so by now.  Does anyone know?

mine is 2008006xx, issued the end of april last year.  I'm betting they start counting over each year.

I think so too, but does anyone out there know, or know how to find out how many CHPs have been issued?  Someone on the forum in another post said something to the effect that the number of permits was a matter of public record, but where do you find it?   Would you have to go through the freedom of information act?

Last I heard, it was over 4,000 ...... and that was almost 10 months ago, before lb430 made them rally useful:
