I had a sporterized one once.  Mine was made by Singer, was pretty accurate only problem I had was that the peep sights didn't work so great with the ageing eyes for hunting.  It would have cost more than the rifle was worth to get it drilled and taped for a scope.

If you're looking for a shooter instead of a collectible Gibbs Rifle Co. has been taking old demilled drill rifles and rebuilding them.  They look really nice but the barrels and stocks are new so there's no real collector value.  They must be using really good barrels.  I've read a few reports of sub-MOA accuracy.

Keep a lookout on gunbroker, bore condition is everything. If you can pick one up cheap enough with a bad barrel,NOS barrels are still available. FWIW---Mike.
