I miss having a motorcycle so much. One of these days I will stop buying guns and get one again.

Well, I could buy both guns and motorcycles, but I would like to stay married.
Could be worse, my brother in law and dad are into horses. Now THAT is an expensive hobby.
-
just buy a small motorcycle....lol and make sure it has a side car.
-
So if it doesn't work out with the wife, you'll have a place with your nephew....
-
I can hear my CBR1000RR screaming my name since it hasn't seen the light of day since October! >:D

Now you got justification for one.... I just missed it

Since the last time I was on a motorcycle I woke up in Bryan West, i think my family would do something drastic to me if I did ride.
Doesn't mean I don't want to lol...:D
-
I don't ride for that very reason.
-
Ready? Rode just this Monday. Of course not so much a pleasure ride. If the weather holds out, I plan on being out tomorrow.

Something about a normal person, once you put a motorcycle under them, they forget about things like gravity, family, judges, etc.
I put a few miles on them, and yes they are fun, but there are ten thousand reasons to stay away from them.
Thinking about selling this one this spring. Had it 13 years. The only thing to go faster down O street than this is the Blue Angels airforce show.
Rode her three times last year, not worth the maintaince using her so little.
Someone mentioned sidecars. That is my other bike, which my Maltese friends dearly love!
I have switched over to sailing. Still plays in the wind, but if you fall off, no road rash, and no helmet law for those (yet)

Those that have and those that will. Just another reason for the "Second Look" campaign.

Yeah, it's dirty, but I didn't buy it to look pretty in a shed. ;)
Like I always say; a clean bike is like a clean mind, the owner of either just isn't enjoying life to it's fullest.

P.S. To all the riders reading this; It got too late last year to set this up, and no one really seemed interested enough to jump in and help out.
But I thought it would be a hoot to have a "NFOA Riders' Shoot N Scoot. Kind of a poker run, only hopping for gun range to gun range. Could be a fundraiser of sorts, or just for S & Gs, or...
Any idears?

The scoot n shoot sounds like a great idea NE Bull.
I have been to Grand Island and visited Hornady a couple times to pick up some blem bullets but the only time I could make the ride was on a Friday. Any day of the week BESIDES Friday, a person can tour the factory and see different stages of bullet production.
I`m thinking a group ride to G.I. to visit Hornady on a Monday-Thursday to tour the factory would be a good destination.
Regarding a few other post; yes there is no doubt about hazards that are inherent to riding a motorcycle..just hope my luck holds out and don`t join the side of `those who have` anytime soon.
Having family and the fact I`m 45yrs old has mellowed me out quite a bit...not to say I have not opened this bad boy up a couple times.
NE Bull,(or others) PM me anytime you want to discuss a ride/ short road trip.
BTW- this is my second Hayabusa, I traded the first for a quad and then rode a `07 Softail Custom for ~5yrs.

I ride all year round, don't ever put the bike up. Was 23* this morning when I left the house, 20 miles to work, not that bad. The wife rides all year round too, but getting off at 1 AM, she doesn't like dodging deer for her 20 mile ride so she drives the Explorer.

Thats dedicated Dave & Mrs...makes me shiver just thinking about it!
I`m a fair weather rider and also prefer daylight.
Off tomorrow so I plan to at least run it up n down HWY 2 a bit...maybe run to Lincoln.

Safety Warning
Each year, the city of Lincoln puts one or more bikers into wooden boxes and lowers them into the ground.
Like John Wayne said: "Your fault, My fault, nobody's fault, anything goes wrong, someone dies"
As you ride this season, remember to slow down and look both ways at EVERY intersection. Look for gravel on turns, folks making left hand turns from an approaching lane, turning in front of you. Check your front and back air pressure, to make sure tires have proper amounts of air in them.
Can't be too careful, and someone will learn that this summer, in our city of Lincoln.

Get your wife to shoot & ride! :)

Get your wife to shoot & ride! :)
She actually likes both. Before we were married we used to ride all the time, but I ended up selling my bikes when we were broke newlyweds. Now she gives me no end of grief for blowing all my discretionary money on boomsticks.

Rumor has it next Friday is 60 degrees and the shop says she will be dyno tuned by then. Should be a good ride back from Sioux Falls!

My galand I last rode on 13 December, then put them away for the season. Going in to Holsteins later this month to order some goodies for installation to be ready for the coming warmer weather. We are itching to get back in the saddle.
-
put me in the ready to ride category. Would love to do a trip to Hornaday.
Lucky for me the fiance and I both enjoy riding and shooting.
Needs a few parts though first.
Rear tire
Chain & sprockets
If I wasn't building two ARs right now...
-
muleshemi, I think it`s going to be much easier to find sprockets, chain, and a tire
I`m not even going to bother looking for any AR parts for at least 6 months.
I didn`t ride but only about 15 miles today, but at least I got the dust knocked off.
Good safety tips pointed out in a few post back..sand especially this time of year before the street sweepers and April showers have done their thing. I also found that my tires have much less traction when it`s this chilly out.

Any day is a good day for 2 wheels! 8)

Leather up!
To quote and old quote: "If you ride and have never been to Sturgis...you are not a rider". Seriously, it is something to see at least once in one's lifetime. Pic was taken on the way to Devils Tower.
-
Some nice looking cruisers there you guys. Bet they could carry plenty of bullets back from GI...hint hint..pack mules for me..jk
Actually I have a rear seat bag that would hold more bullets than what I would want to load on a bike.
I have heard many a wild stories about Sturgis...not so sure if I would be into it or not...not much of a partier or he!! raiser anymore...but there definately was a time.

I am currently in negotiations with my youngest brother to ride to the NRA meetings in May.
He worried about the LOONG ride. I'm worried about my dumb hillbilly butt in Houston traffic on a bike. But I think it would be a good ride.
-
if I can ever get back home when there isnt any snow comming down I will have the scoot out. First one was taken at a bar in Savana Il. (Poopys) and second at a Mississippi River over look in Iowa.
