Any helpful advise in what to expect when I apply

Relative freedom? ;)
Hopefully someone more familiar with the Mass permit system will fill you in.

I'm not sure what you are looking for, but I can give you some highlights.
In Nebraska:
No approved firearm rosters.
No "Assault Weapon" ban.
No laws against open carry except for in Omaha.
Ammo component possession without a license is not a felony.
The CCW holders can tell you more about the restrictions involved with carrying in Nebraska.

I can tell you that once you become a Nebraska resident, your current LTC will be invalid, and you will have to take the Nebraska required course to apply for a Concealed Handgun permit.
-
Must be a resident of Nebraska for 180 days
-
Yes , unfortunately this will require a period of time where the OP will be "naked" at least partially
-
Well depending on your arrival you may hit the on going deer season, if so good luck.

Your permit you have will be useless here, establish residency asap, If you move to the city limits of Omaha you are supposed to register handguns, for the time being until you can qualify for the NE permit, you will have to live with open carry, or concealed carry when there is a valid reason to do so, totally subjective. There is no limit on magazine capacity, or NFA firearms ownership. Silencers are allowed for hunting. Practice talking without an accent if you want to blend in.
So what area of the state are you moving to?

Here is the Nebraska State Patrol's website with the info on NE law and permit application process: http://statepatrol.nebraska.gov/ConcealCarry.aspx (http://statepatrol.nebraska.gov/ConcealCarry.aspx)
