Title: ProAm Steel Competition - May 31, 2015 @ ENGC
Post by: SeanN on May 19, 2015, 09:11:21 AM
Eastern Nebraska Gun Club will be hosting our 1st Pro Am match of the year on May 31st! This match is very similar to a USPSA Action Pistol match but you have a par time (and only the best shooters will have a chance of actually finishing a stage within the time limit) and all the targets are steel! Steel must fall to score and whoever knocks down the most steel targets in the match wins!

Ties are broken by the timed tie-breaker stage. Unlike the other stages, this one has no time limit and whoever finishes the stage fastest will win ties with competitors who have knocked down the same number of steel targets in the match.

Another fun change is that all competitors are limited to 10 rounds in a magazine (+1 in the chamber on a loaded start stage). This means that your ability to reload (and your choice of when to reload) becomes extremely important!

This match is very fast paced and shooting steel is always a blast!

We have a strict attendance policy. If you are not in line to register and pay by 8:30AM, you will not be allowed to shoot!

Online Pre-Registration: https://clubs.practiscore.com/enps-pro-am-style-match/register
Please note that you must show up prior to 8:30AM to pay and sign in with match staff even if you pre-register!

Match Fee: $15.

Schedule Is As Follows:
Equipment You Will Need:
Not sure what division you have the equipment for? This match is pretty simple. There are only two divisions: Limited and Open. If you have an optic and/or a compensator on your gun, you're in Open. Everything else falls into Limited! Specific equipment rules will follow USPSA rules for Limited and Open.

If you have any questions please reply to this thread or PM me! I will do what I can to help you out. :)

Here's an example of what the match can be like (this is from last year):

While they are similar to USPSA field stages, the stage designer has a lot more leeway in terms of what they can require.  (For example, in the stage with the colored targets, you could only shoot the targets that matched the color of the box you were standing in.)

...so the stages end up being a LOT of fun.  Every target is falling steel, and it is a blast to shoot.  Four par-time stages (par time means you have a limited amount of time in which to shoot, and when the timer beeps, stop shooting!) and one timed stage for a tie-breaker.

C'mon out and watch the Open division guys try to remember how to reload more than once on a stage!  :)

We will be starting setup at 5:00PM Saturday evening for the Pro-Am match this Sunday. This match takes a long time to setup due to all of the steel! Please, if you can, come help setup for the match. The more people we share the burden with, the easier it gets. Every little bit of help is greatly appreciated.
