Quote from: the article
The ACLU said the states won’t be able to stop federal agencies or border agents from using drones.

Excuse me ?

Border agents.... is a possible grey area.

But Federal Agencies in general ?

I'd like to see the jurisdiction argument, if you please.

Me thinks that this would exclude LEO's from spying in your house window.

Not much can be done as they fly so far up you wouldn't spot unless your looking for them.

Since China seems to sell to anyone

I wonder how much Sam's are selling for

Do you need a NFA to own a SAM ?

and does it have to be pre 1968   ;D

I believe that you just have to be a government agency to buy on. Time to start calling our local Sheriff.

Who needs a SAM?  There was a story a few months back about a couple of U of Tex students who built a jammer from Radio Shack parts that could block or scramble the control signals on a drone.

Used ? No.  Still unopened HCl and H2SO4.

Also, while in jest, I'd be careful with such discussion :).  Much of it is quite NFA related heh.

Heh heh...If I've been pushed to the point I worked up the nerve to knock down a govt. drone do you really think the thought of messing up someone's game of AngryBirds on their iPhone or their router connection is a plausible deterrent?

Thought everyone might enjoy this URL below. I wouldn't be worried about drones. With the spy satellites and Google earth available (for a fee you can get their detailed current photos), Uncle Sam can already see anything we're doing. Anyway, check this URL out.

Planes In Flight... http://www.flightradar24.com/ (http://www.flightradar24.com/)
Have you ever wondered where that plane flying over head is going and what type of aircraft I just watched on my laptop the plane whose vapour trail I could see over head and was blown away by all the information and also the view.
This is definitely a keeper.
You are also going to be totally blown away when you see how many aircraft are flying in your area...
I can now see why an aircraft traffic controller is one very, very busy person.
You can see all the information instantly on your screen. But before clicking on the link:
Some tricks;
On the map you will see all the planes in the air.
To view your region or town, you can zoom in by tapping with your mouse.
Click on a airplane, and on the left screen you will get all the info.
Airline, type, speed, altitude in real time, re calculated every 10 seconds.
On some you can also click on ‘view from the cockpit’.

Wow.  cool website.  Also, you could buy your own drone for about $300 at Barnes and Noble.  Yes, Barnes and Noble.  Affix a camera and whatever else one might dream up, find a little software which is available online, and viola. Return the favor. Check it out on YouTube.  People have affixed some interesting items....that worked a little too well for comfort.

Thats whuy i joked about acid not B-powder I suck at chemistry ;D

You know how many Yuotube videos there are related to just those subjects ? :o

I'm not sure if i should be relieved or frightened about what i found about something i only posted about in jest   :-[
