Title: Glock In .45ACP
Post by: Randy on February 03, 2009, 07:57:45 PM
Thinking about purchasing a Glock in .45 ACP for some Bowling Pin bashing, any thoughts?

I love my G30. But I would think a G21 or G21SF would be a better pin gun.  My opinion is that the Glock polymer frames seem to soak up a lot of recoil, and the wider grip area reduces the felt recoil even more by spreading out the applied force over a larger area.

I also prefer the low bore axis of the Glock, as  I feel it has more of a push and less torque/twist when fired than the other .45 ACP's I have fired with similar loads

The SF does interest me, to bad that they require a different magazine.

The Glock 21SF does not require a different mag, it uses a 13 round standard Glock mag.

I once shot my Glock 21 side by side with a Kimber 1911 (a guy at the range traded with me for a few shots).

The Glock was SOOOOOOO SOFT, that Kimber with its hard steel frame and sharp cut checkered grips hurt my hand like crazy.

Glock 45's are SOFT shooters, period. You need to shoot one, we can hook up some time to do this.

Sure and I will bring my Kimber PRO CDP early series 70 4" Bull Barrel
Alumna Grips Tactical Style Grip. Thin 5/32 vs standard 1/4' half serrated half smooth diagonally with the serrations towards the front. A quality product.

Your hand you must help in the kitchen. Never mind I forgot about your paid job.

I do own a G 19C.

Thanks for the info on the Magazine.

Did you need a hanky to wipe away the tears. hehehe Just kiddin'. I've shot 1911's with "hard steel frames and sharp cut checkered grips". It's not that bad or anything close to that bad.

The G30 and G21 are wonderful guns. Nice to have 13 rounds of .45 ACP at your disposal. You won't regret purchasing either one or both for that matter!
