Any of you fellow gun nuts have experience with the 5906? I'm looking at a couple of them. A boy can never have enough 9mm toys!

I have owned one for the last 15-20 years.
It is very reliable and sturdy, I have never had a misfire or jamb with mine.
There are lots of mags around for these, holsters, grips etc.
I bought mine used for around $400, they are worth $300-500 now depending on condition.
I think the gun went a little out of style since it is big and heavy, and the market is heading to polymer and smaller concealable guns.
These were used by a lot of Police Depts. as they evolved away from revolvers, but that market has evolved again to Glocks.
My son has a 4506 in 45acp that he likes.
I know the 1006 10mm is more rare and pricey.
Good luck, Greg

Thanks for the input. I bought one and am awaiting delivery. It will something different from my Glock, which I like immensely. I like Smith & Wesson products so it wasn't a huge gamble ;)

Have not shot it yet :( BH too crowded, ENGC too cold. I have shot 2matches but after tearing down sets I am ready to scoot.
