Nice example of extrapolation of data which attempts to explain why there is a .22 ammo shortage. Seems reasonable.

That, unfortunately, makes perfect sense >:D

I had never considered that the move from limited 10-rounds to the “new normal” 20, 25 and 30 round capacity magazines might have on ammunition supply. It makes perfect sense.
If the writer(Johnson) is just now figuring this out, he must have been living under a rock or doesn't understand supply & demand.
Or, maybe he is just a freaking idiot. IDK ::)

Dicks Sporting Goods had 3-4 PALLETS of Remington 500 packs at all of their DFW stores for well over a week when I was visiting my parents last week. $24.99/box ... and I easily picked up 2..... So its getting back to "normal".....
-
I would say it is (was) a combination of many of these factors.
- The new "norm" being spraying hundreds of rounds down range from some goofy .22 made to look like an AR.
- Obama-generated fears causing people to stock up.
- Tons of new shooters joining the sport.
- Tons of old shooters buying more guns.
Whatever... The worst is over now. Cabellas LaVista had loads of CCI Minimag in stock last week but I passed it by because I'm stocked up enough for my usage rate. As a family with Savage single shots and a Bearcat single action, we go for quality of shots, not quantity.
-
i was at Cabelas this week and they had lots of 22... and get this, it was left over from the day before!!

They have any CCI standard 1070 fps LRN?
-
Wal-Mart @ Bellevue also had lots of ammo this noon.

GG, Yes when I was there and available on their website now, with free ship to store. (That's the 40 grain "non-Mini Mag" LRN in the 50 round boxes, right?)
-
The CCI that Wal-Mart is getting in is the standard load in 100 round packs. I keep an eye out for it, got a couple rifles that love it.

when i was there it was 40gr Winchester subs. i almost bought some, but then remembered my 22 conversion hates Winchester cases, so i passed.

I went down to check and noticed a dozen or so boxes of CCI standard 1070fps 40gr LRN, 100 per case, for $7.39. Limit 3 per customer per day. I will be there at 8AM tomorrow to get 3 boxes.

Glad you got yours!
This is why you're supposed to take your wife to Walmart: so you can get six boxes.

I never thought of that! Thanks for the tip!

Was in the Wal Mart on 72nd in Papillion/La Vista mid morning and they had CCI 40gr. LRN 100 brick and Rem. 50 pk. No lines of people. The ammo was just sitting on the shelf looking sad and needing a home.

6 sleeves found a new home tonight at about 7 PM. Papillion store. Need to ask for it at the counter.
