What is "parkerized" on a 1911?
Is it looks or preformance?
TIA

Parkerizing is used on some gun finishes instead of bluing and is considered a better finish with more resistant to wear by many gun owners.

Parkerizing is more of a duller, rougher finish than Bluing, but it's a lot tougher.

Thanks for the help.

IIRC, that's the coating that gives the OD or gray color on military weapons - tough stuff.
