That had to be a typo or a system glitch. I bought some 100 round packs of shorts and longs there recently and they were eight or nine dollars per box.

It was a joke folks, yes even big companies like Cabela's have a sense of humor. Just saw some numbers, last year Cabela's sold more than three times the .22 long rifle ammo than they did in any one year before this run on ammo started. Other retailers are having the same movement of .22 ammo. The manufacturers are reporting the same info on their sales.
The .22 availability issues are not being caused by manufacturers or dealers but by hoarders and those that are buying all they can and reselling it for a markup on the internet, which is technically illegal without a license.
