Title: Preemption Violations
Post by: jcox2820 on December 18, 2013, 02:21:58 PM
Hey all,

I've been doing some research into local officials violating preeemption, particularly when it comes to open carry. Does anyone know of any examples?

OK trying to understand what you are questioning.  First there is only preemption for those with CCW permits and those "usually" carry concealed so obviously the open carry question is not a major thing.  I did hear of a Sheriff's Deputy one time being a bit of a jerk about it when he stopped a person open carrying that had a CCW permit, but that seems to have been an anomaly and if I remember correctly the person involved spoke with the Sheriff who gave some education to his Deputy.  That would have been a couple of years ago....

State CHP laws trump local firearms laws.
