The Lincoln Izaak Walton League will be hosting their annual Friends of NRA banquet at the clubhouse southeast of Lincoln on February 18th. Funds raised at Friends of NRA events go to promote shooting sports both locally here in Nebraska as well as throughout the country. In Lincoln grants from the NRA Foundation have paid for several range improvement projects such as new trap houses and baffle systems on the rifle ranges.
Catering will be by Famous Dave's and there will be raffle tickets sold for a couple of AR's and 1911's, as well as the opportunity to bid on guns and other outdoor equipment in the auction. The night starts at 5:30 with a social hour. Cost is $25. You can purchase dinner tickets at http://www.friendsofnra.org/ (http://www.friendsofnra.org/)
If you can't attend the dinner but would like to purchase raffle tickets you can contact myself or Wildgoose on this forum, or contact the club manager:

Same day as the NFOA Senate Visit !! 8)
That could make quite a day.....
-
hmmm... i need to see if i can get my wife to go with me.
-
Unfortunately I won't be able to attend either event, since I'll be in Tennessee for work.
This is really a worthy cause, though, and you don't have to be an NRA member to attend. One of the biggest challenges gun owners face is finding a safe place to shoot, and that's exactly what the NRA Foundation works towards. If you are an NRA member residing in Lancaster county you should be getting a mailer from the NRA about it.

since i've never been to one of these, i have a question or two...
whats the attire like?
can we CC or is there going to be alcohol, etc?
-
Casual attire, wear whatever you want. Most people will be in jeans.
Alcohol will be served, however you should be fine to CC if you're not drinking as the Ikes does not get a significant percentage of income from alcohol sales.

Bump....tickets are still available.

Maybe we should make a day of it and stop by downtown for NFOA Day at the Capital. ;)
