Precision Response Training is offering their CCW Lifestyle class on February 8th. This is a one-day course including drills, information about daily carry, practice with differing holsters, discussions of use of force, and scenario training.
But I've said that all before. :) Feel free to check out prior AARs regarding this class.
Course fee: $85.
Information about the class can be found in the class descriptions section of our website at http://precisionresponse.4t.com (http://precisionresponse.4t.com)

For those who have asked me lately: Yes, we still have space left in this class. So go ahead and register. (If it DOES fill, I'll get you an email immediately letting you know that you are on the wait list, and that I'll tell you if someone drops out.)
Remember---for this class you need either a practice barrel (such as this: http://shop.blade-tech.com/training-barrel-c-81_123.html (http://shop.blade-tech.com/training-barrel-c-81_123.html) ) or a barrel blocker (such as this: http://www.trainsafe.us/products.php (http://www.trainsafe.us/products.php) ).
You just don't need ammunition. And we are indoors all day, so you don't need to worry about the weather. :)
The class, as I've said, is only $85 for a full day of training including scenarios. Quite frankly, that is considerably less than my normal one-day training prices, and it is priced that way (like my Introduction to Handguns course) because so many people need it as a way to get started in their understanding of Concealed Carry. And they don't understand that they need it.
Many people buy a compact or sub-compact gun, buy whatever "concealment" holster is suggested by the local gun store, pass the NE State CCW course, and that's it.
And if you are going to be safe with your CCW firearm, if you are going to be effective with your CCW firearm, that isn't enough.
Unless, of course, you think that carrying it will somehow keep the bad guys away. (Hint: it won't.)
How do you know that your holster is right for you? Comfortable? Concealed? How's your draw out of it? Do you carry every day?
Do you actually know and understand the use of force laws with respect to lethal force? Have you ever practiced any application of them?
What is your handgun technique like under stress? What is your decision-making capability like under stress? Have you ever engaged in scenario training?
$85. Register (http://precisionresponse.4t.com/Schedule.html).

It occurs to me to note that if you want to get one of the Blade-Tech training barrels for a G26, you simply buy the one for the G19 and just cut it smaller. (That's what I did, and it works perfectly well.)
You don't actually have to cut it to length if you don't want to (for example, if you also have a G19 that you want a practice barrel for)---if you don't, it'll just stick out a bit more in the G26. If it still fits your holster, then it'll be fine. And that way you have a training barrel you can use for either a G19 or a G26.
Note: you can't do the same for the G17 training barrel and cut it to the G19 length. The barrel profile is slightly different, and it won't work. (Just like you can't put a G17 barrel in a G19, but you can put a G19 barrel in a G26.)

Just ran across this & I really want to take this class....& of course I don't have one of the safety barrel inserts! I better order one & try to make it to the next session!

What gun do you have?

I might have one you could use, if you were interested in the class on Saturday. What make/model of gun were you planning on using?

My ccw is a Springfield xd 9 subcompact... If you have one, I'm about 89% sure I would be able to attend Saturday, if you have the room. I'd really like to take the class before all my spring/summer activities begin. Let me know & I will tell my wife.....(im not saying a word to her until I know) 8)

Yeah, I've got one you can borrow. (You'll owe me! Bring a donut!)
After you practice with it, you'll want to get one of your own if you do any dryfire at home. Takes all of 20 seconds to install or remove, and adds a significant layer of safety to any dryfire practice.
No, I don't sell them, and no, I don't have any stock in the company. :)

Glazed or jelly? I tried a new strategy, I told my wife that I was taking the training class unless there was something that I absolutely couldn't miss....
I used the quote, "i owe it to my family & myself to be proficient with the firearm that I carry".
Hey its the truth!
I will go fill out the registration when I'm on break later....
Looking forward to it.....

I approve this message. Kudo's to you, and thumbs up.

Glazed or jelly?
Goo-filled is always good. :)
I used the quote, "i owe it to my family & myself to be proficient with the firearm that I carry".
Nice! Not only completely true, but can be used to justify a LOT of useful (and fun!) things.

After Action review of this course?
Obviously I'm not going to review my own course. :)
But here, at least, are some AARs from people who took this course previously.

I forgot just how uproariously funny I can be. :D

After Action review of this course?
I learned quite a bit from this course...it was exactly what I was looking for, a followup to my initial chp class with more advanced techniques & scenarios discussed & practiced...
I started jotting down some notes to write an AAR & will do so when I can sit down on a real computer & not my phone..
