Title: Czech WW II Mausers
Post by: DRech on March 28, 2014, 08:24:06 PM
I am looking for info on Czech Mausers.  bought a $60 book from Brownell's that told me a lot about Mausers but not the one I have.  Ser is XR159xx.  No crest on the top of the receiver.  I heard these were made under Nazi occupation for a Romanian ( Axis Power) contract .  any one fill me in on date Manufactured etc. or anything else you might know??  I put on a 2-7X scout scope on it and hope to wack a deer with this fall.  Shoots real nice but using a scout scope is a little different.

much appreciated.

XR block vz.24's like yours would have been most likely manufactured around the middle to the end of 1943, the Romanians were building them under an Axis contract until they joined the Allies in 1944.  They started in about 1938 with an "AX#####" designation, and made roughly 25,000 per alpha-numeric designation.
