just saw this on a friend's facebook page...
Don't watch if you are offended by large black women fighting in QuikTrip gas stations while wearing skanky clothing!
This video was apparently taken at the QT on south 72nd near Pacific street recently....
Not really related to guns....other than I thought it would be good to be carrying if you walked into the gas station & this was occurring! I sure wouldnt try to stop this but I also would defend myself if it escalated towards me.

& a 2 liter! Omaha Police response time isnt anything to brag about on this one.

The in store altercation is not the problem. Where things could have gone horribly wrong is when it spilled out into the parking lot and to the cars, where there very easily could have been a firearm. Innocent bystanders, friends, enemies, employees, a video camera. Im surprised this didnt spiral out of control into something much worse.

Mabye we could get Marlin perkins to narrate this.
if not a firearm, at least a fire extinguisher sized pepper spray!

Well that is 6:38 that I will never get back.

Sorry. I feel stupider for watching it myself...

Two things come to mind while watching this video...
#1 - Where was OPD, Did the store clerk not call or were they involved?
#2 - It is a miracle a gun was not introduced into this fight, things could have gone down hill VERY quickly.
-
this is on the Omaha police officers association facebook. There are a lot of things to be said on this. 7 minutes isn't that long of a time, who knows when they were called. a few might have already been on calls and the NW district is by far the largest in Omaha and with maybe 2 dozen cops (many of them 2 per car.)

Never heard so many terms of endearment, on one you tube video.
Bad idea to get gas at 2am, rather than the much safer 2pm.
I will be playing excerpts of this for my CC classes. I don't feel this video is a waste of time, in the least bit. It shows how quickly, a group of people, can change into a mob, and people can get hurt.
Anyone that ever goes into a Walmart, or a convenience store late at night, or anytime really, should watch this, to help raise your alert levels. I will definitely have my wife watch this also.

I wonder how many employees were on duty at the time. The only one I saw was the white guy in a blue shirt and shorts. He showed guts trying to break up the fight and then standing at the door to keep the two groups separated. In his place, I would have locked myself in a back room, called 911 and let them trash the store.

I stopped at that qt yesterday as I was working a few blocks away & I love their unsweetened ice tea
The clerks were talking about it as I approached the counter... QT always has at least 2 employees working at all times, apparently when the fight began to escalate the employees locked themselves in the backroom & called police...
According to posts on the Omaha Police Officers Association facebook page, the white guy in the video was an off duty officer...which leads to a bunch more questions like, was he carrying? They didn't specify if he was OPD...
A giant can of pepper spray would have went a long ways...

at one point it did look like he showed a badge on his belt but with all the chaos it was hard to tell.
and that off duty cop was dwarfed by 'dem big booty hoes

KETV says it was an off duty OPD LEO. Douglas county att office is investigating.
At :43 he is printing a bit. At 4:50, he is walking back towards the store entrance, putting something back under his shirt.
At 4:55, we see what looks to be a badge.
I had a CHP class today, and I mentioned this, as a good reason to shop convenience stores in the middle afternoon.
Frame from 4:50

Glad that you are teaching Situational Awareness & More as part of your CHP class!
I once got a 'open container' citation for helping a friend work on his car In his driveway & I was drinking my first beer that evening..for these people to go unTicketed, for this blatant violation of So many laws of the state & of common decency....I would charge several of them with assault among other misc charges...

I stress so sternly, people not getting into situations, they cannot get back out of, I wonder just how many of my students go ahead and get their permits, and how many say to themselves, this is more than I care to deal with, and they just hide at home, under the covers.
Sorry about your ticket.
