I just left a message to try to get a table for us. If we can't get one, I guess I'll just stand by the entrance with a clipboard. ;D
I'm going to try to get down there on Saturday, could use a bit of help that day and maybe a couple people to sign people up on Sunday.
Any volunteers???
-
I was so hopeing for a Lincoln event that I could help at but I am going thru CERT training the whole weekend.
Sorry Guys
-
There'll be more coming up in the area. Crete in Oct. and Seward in Nov.
Let's try to hit them ALL!

i may be able to help on that sunday..... granted i don't have to work. when do i have to let you know?
-
Rick, I normally am always at that show, but I will be in Colorado testing out that new Reciprocity thing that weekend
-
That is also the weekend for North Platte gun show. I may be there signing people up if I can't find someone to do it, but it looks like I may have found someone to. Randy May is going to help at Brule and maybe Alliance, we will hit 2000 sometime soon. This is the weekend to hit 2000 guys, do you want to be a part of this effort? Columbus and Norfolk are still wide open for someone to get involved.
-
Rick, I will volunteer to help sign people up and promote the group on Saturday.
I don't know that I have the in-your-face-attitude and character but I will give it my best shot.
-
Not sure yet, but I might be able to help out at the Lincoln Show.
-
95% chance we'll be getting a table. Sounds good so far!
-
I'll check with the Mrs. to make sure we don't have anything going on that weekend but I'd be willing to help for a few hours on one of the days.

It's fun and a challenge, once you get rolling. ;)
I probably only had 5 out of 80 to 100 or so at Cabela's that flat out rejected joining up. Had about 10 that took a flier to do some more checking on us.
-
I'm hunting on saturday and have a big church deal all day sunday, so I'm out.
-
Looks like we should be ok for Saturday, we could use a couple more members to help on Sunday.
Having 2 people working the table is good, 3 is great.
-
how long and what time would we have to be there to help out?
-
It's usually busiest between 10 and 2, but anytime would be appreciated.
-
i can only volunteer on sunday since i work on saturdays.
i gotta hang out with the fiance that afternoon, so im sure i can get the morning shift.
anyone else going to help out? and when do i get my crash-course in what to say?
-
Does the facility allow CCW?

They will be now... ;)
I just got off the phone with Ron Stover, the Lancaster Event Center Managing Director.
http://www.lancastereventcenter.com/management.html (http://www.lancastereventcenter.com/management.html)
I asked if they had the "no guns" signs up, he said they did have them up, but were doing some remodeling and took them down. I stated that having the signs up could lead to lower attendance at the upcoming gun show. He said he would leave them down for the show, and most likely for good. I thanked him, told him the members of the NFOA appreciate it.
See, all it takes is a phone call, or letter, or email. Imagine what we could accomplish if each member made just one call or sent one email per week to a business that has "no guns" signs on their door.
-
I don't have anything booked for work..... lemmee check with the wife's social calendar.
-
well change of plans. i cannot help at all this gun show :(
the fiance has family coming into town so now i gotta go eat out with them and hang out with them all day on sunday. :-\
however, have no fear, im going to the gun show on saturday before work!
-
Well, my in-laws will be here this weekend, but I should be available to help out on Sunday for a couple of hours. I figure I can help out for a couple of hours, then my father in law can come out when I'm done and we can walk around and see the show together. What time would you guys need me to help?
-
Rick we already talked today .Wont be able to give a yes till friday or saturday. If I'm not working sunday I will be there.
-
so i cannot help out like i said before but ill be there early (9am-ish) on sat to check out the deals. do you need help then? i could stick around for a couple of hours possibly, but i have to head to work that day.
-
Looks like we have Saturday covered, could really use some help on Sunday.
EDIT: Just got our confirmation, we will have a table donated to us. ;D
-
Rick, I'm available on Sunday. Just let me know what time.
-
Rick, I'm available on Sunday. Just let me know what time.
the show is open sunday from 9 til 4, so from 9am til whenever would be fine. I don't have anyone else confirmed (as of now) for sunday.
Jesse T will be picking up the banner(and applications) when the show is over sunday afternoon.
-
Sounds good, I'll try to be there right at 9:00. Do I let the door guys know I'm working the NFOA table?
Come on guys, we need a few more for Sunday. Don't make me work alone!
-
I spoke with Ben from AJ Guns in Columbus. They are going to be at the gunshow tomorrow in Lincoln, encouraged them to stop by the table and join NFOA. Been encouraging them for a while to join, he said they have been on the forum and like what they have been seeing. He said they will sign up when they get there. Also, they may have some flyers for an upcoming training that they are putting on in Schuyler on 10/3.
-
I will be there Sunday to help. Now we just need another one or two to show up.
-
I will be there Sunday too.

Starting to look like we are going to have a god turn out for sunday.I might even be able to come down for awhile on saturday too. Just depends on how late I work and if I want to spend time with my wife.LOL

I'm pretty sure I signed up a couple of those guys back at the Grand Island show earlier this year, but we'll make sure their they all get signed up.
They seem like good folk. :)
-
Excellent! I'm glad we're going to be well staffed both days. My wife got a little cranky when I couldn't tell her how long I'd be at the gun show. I think she's scared I'll come home with a new resident for my fun safe :)

I know we signed them up Rick. They are good guys and treat customers well. Make sure you get to their table early for the ammo.

i was at the gun show early saturday morning. i almost traded away my yugo ak, but decided against it. but i had about 5 offers before i could get out of the building.
we were signing up people and getting some good word of mouth (and donations). i was there for almost 2.5 hours and it was a good turnout during that time.
-
It was great to see everyone today, thanks for stopping by and for the generous donations.
Only got 43 new members signed up today :-\ , but got over $200 in donations. ;D
Hope you guys that are helping out tomorrow have good luck! Member apps., stickers, etc. are on the chair under the table,
email me if you have any questions.
-
Thanks Rick. Doesnt look like you guys were very busy after I left. But hey its 43 new members and some nice donations.Hope we can come close to those numbers tomorrow.

Yeah, in this area, we are seeing the numbers drop a bit due to the same people going to the same shows over and over. I still want to sign up every last one!
>:D
-
FYI.... No CW at this one. Walked up to the door today and had to go back and lock it up in the car.

Yeah, I was a bit ticked-off when I saw the signs this morning. The organizers of the show used the excuse that their liability insurance required it. I don't buy it. ::)
-
Farmer, how about some info. on these same organizers so we (NFOA Members) can give them an ear full about why we did not attend there show.

Please remember when contacting them...they did donate a table for our use for the weekend. ;)
The reasons behind the no-gun signs was told to me by one of their members(who wanted to join NFOA) that was collecting admission fees, not Ms. Moody.
-
Didnt have a good day today. Only signed up 10 and got $30 in donations. They werent all that busy either. They said that yesterday had 1100 people there.
-
This was probably the worst Lincoln gun show I've ever seen. I think it was half its normal size, and probably a quarter of the normal attendees. When they used to have it at the state fairgrounds it would be packed full of tables and shoulder to shoulder with people.
-
Well, we appreciate your help today anyway guys. :)
It seems the gun show attendance is waning a little bit lately, gun and ammo sales are slowing quite a lot.
Hopefully the Hastings show will be a bit busier, I'll be out there this weekend.
If anyone else will be out there and would like to help recruit new members, please let me know. http://www.nebraskafirepower.com/forum/index.php?topic=1175.0 (http://www.nebraskafirepower.com/forum/index.php?topic=1175.0)

Well part of the slow down is there is a huge saturation of alot of the guns out there right now and more than a couple people most likely over extended to get what they wanted. Now that they did that there will be a lull for awhile while bills are covered for the spending that was done.
Rick it was good to meet you, wish I had been able to get there a touch earlier to meet some of the others that had left before I got there.
-
Well, don't get me wrong....I still had a good time. A day at a gunshow with NFOA members still beats the heck out of painting the basement, which is what I had to do when I got home :(
-
I did a little informal recruiting at the Nebraska Territorial Rangers (cowboy action) Annual match this weekend, including my pard that ran against Brenda Council in the last election...
-
Ended up with 59 new members from lincoln this weekend. Registration paperwork is sent off to Randy. :)
And my wrists hurt from typing. :D
-
59 isn't bad for how poor the attendance was. Every bit helps.
