I'm currently waiting on a reply from BCM, but thought i'd ask here.
Last night, in the process of one of my slowest projects ever, i was attaching my barrel to the upper receiver. at the end of the day, when i was torquing it down with the supplied tool, it slipped, and basically stripped the notches the tool locks into, and burred the exterior of the nut.
I managed to get the nut off, but was using a different tool as the supplied on wouldn't fit over the burrs. this is when this tool sheared off and left me with nothing.
So, before i think a replacement might be difficult to get, i lock on my vice grips, and get the nut off, obviously ruining the exterior of the nut.
anyhow, BCM doesn't seem to carry one, that i can find, as a stand alone.
Hoping someone has a solution for me, would Hate to have to buy another free float rail.
doesn't look like a standard nut is going to do it.
here's what i have, if you see the pic, you can see that nut.

You will need a KMR barrel nut to install the BCM KMR handguard. At this time we are not offering them separately but we can get a one-time replacement shipped out this week.

They seem to be. I'm learning as i go i guess. I will be taking this one real slow. I had been waiting to do this a couple weeks now, wife went to be last night, so before i knew it, i was wrenching away (in a hurry).
My own fault, wont happen again.
