Title: Winchester Model 70 Pre-64 Front Sight Hood

Any Winchester Model 70 Pre-64 experts out there?  Question:  Were all the front sight hoods on the Pre-64's tapered on both ends?  I think they were but my memory has been known to play tricks on me.  I've been looking for an original pre-64 hood and have found a lot advertised as such but they have the taper on only one end.  I think these are post-64 copies.  The people selling these "replacements" tell me I'm wrong.  What say you?
