This event is limited to the first 15 shooters to sign up. Shooters will compete against each other in several stages that will emphasize marksmanship, speed, and performance under both physical and mental pressure. Each stage will be scored individually to determine your ranking and then points will be awarded based off of that ranking. 1 point for 1st, 2 points for 2nd and so on. Whoever has the lowest number of points after completing all stages wins.
Registration Fee - $50.00
Time - 8:00am until complete
Prizes
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will receive a cash prize gathered from a portion of all the entrance fees divided into
50 - 30 - 20% amounts. The more shooters that enter, the larger the payout will be. There will also be a small prize table that shooters will draw from based on what place they finish.
As of now there are 8 stages of fire. (ONE STAGE WILL HAVE A MACHINE GUN ON IT)
You will use 102 rifle rounds with all first round hits so I would recommend bringing an even 200rds.
You will use 68 pistol rounds with all first round hits so I would recommend 200rds for that (THERE MAY BE A GLOCK 18 TO TRY OUT AFTERWARDS)

Sounds like FUN. Too bad I'm not proficient with my carbine. Huh...I wonder if there are classes for that sort of thing? ;D I know...I know...I've been thinking about signing up for one of DCP's classes. Time, money, and all that.

All experience levels are welcome. At the last shoot we really had a diverse group and it made for an interesting day. Every aspect of shooting will be touched on in some form so I'm sure there will be a stage for you to excel at.
Aside from that, 6 spots are now filled. 9 are still available.

Hopefully "...an interesting day." does not mean scary. Maybe some day. You will just have to show me how those little missile shaped thingys go in that metal box looking object that you stick in hole on the bottom of the doohickey. Then just a quick review of the differences between "Safe" and "Fire", and I am good to go.

I hope to make it, but the wife says its her fathers bday and i might be out of town.
Are suppressors ok or should we shoot unsuppressed?

Suppressors are encouraged :-)

There has been one change, we will be utilizing a different facility now located outside of Bennet. Everyone will meet at American Reaper Arms no later than 8:00am. We will then proceed to the range from there.
Also one requirement not previously mentioned, everyone will need a minimum of 3 pistol magazines.
8 spots are now filled, 7 still available.

I may be game on this. Gotta do some checking on something.

I'm game. Gotta split to be to work by 1430, but I'll be in touch.

If all goes well and things run smoothly we can be done by 1400. If need be I can frontload you through the stages though.

A few questions were posed on ARFCOM so I will address them here as well just so everyone is on the same page.
1. A 100 yard zero on your rifle will serve you the best for this event. Accuracy will be a substantial portion on one stage in particular so keep that in mind.
2. Know how your pistol shoots out to 50 yards...
I will leave it at that for now. Later tonight I will post up a video of one of the new obstacles that we just finished building today for one of the stages as well.

Excellent.

anyone feel like carpooling? i have no rush to get back into town after the shoot and wouldn't mind sticking around to help clean up or shoot the stages again, if we are allowed too and if i have ammo left over. i have spots for 5 or 6. ill post this on ARFCOM too.
-
I can carpool from the shop, but I'm handwriting the gun to get to work on time that afternoon.

A little preview of one of the obstacles that we built for this event. I think we are going to call the color "Safety Blue"

See...that's why I didn't go to the match. I would have had competition for that position in the ranking.

Looks like we have 3 spots left after 2 guys had to pull out. Let me know soon if you need to get registered still.

*** Weather Update ***
Its raining pretty steadily here in Bennet, but I really do not want to call the shoot off or reschedule it. With that said, as long as the road down to the range isn't so muddy that people are going to get stuck and tear it up really bad we will try to push through the bad weather. The forecast is saying 40% chance of rain tomorrow and 30% chance on Sunday so make sure to bring your rain gear. I will try to make sure we have some sort of tent or overhead cover as well. I will update this thread when we get closer and are able to make a definite call.
-
Well, dang. We can't all be fairweather shooters. Oh well, I'm not sugar and sh*t floats:)

I am going to go ahead and say we are a go for tomorrow. It is nice and sunny now so unless it just turns to complete crap I don't see us having any issues.
Everyone needs to meet at the shop NLT 7:45am tomorrow morning. We will try to leave by 8:15 to catch any stragglers that show up late. Its only a 5 minute drive to the range so we should be able to be getting started by 9am.
I will email everyone tonight to confirm this information in case they aren't checking this forum or ARFCOM.

YEEEEEEE-HAW!!!
rain, rain, go away!
-
Excellent. My back loosened up finally, now the push-ups on that one stage won't be a problem.
-
Well, that was a lot of fun but holy cow am I tired and sore today. I'm getting too old to run around like that with you youngsters.
-
Ha! Im a little sore, but it beyond fun! I want to do more!
-
Yeah I'm screwed. That was too much fun. And definitely challenging.
