Title: Sharing a Journal Star Article
Post by: Gary on August 10, 2014, 05:59:30 PM
Lets remember to keep our doors locked even when home in the daytime.  Also take note of and report suspicious vehicles in neighborhoods that do not belong.

On a semi-unrelated note, I wonder if Mike Peschong is any relation to LPD CoP Jim Peschong?

I see the article does not mention if they were white, black, hispanic, asian, middle eastern, samoan or ETs. Whether they were wearing coveralls, hip huggers, low riders, leather, chaps, cowboy boots, tennis shoes, flip flops or sandals.  Tall, lanky, short, fat, balding, dreadlocks, shaggy, blond, or well groomed.  Teens, 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's or seniors.  So we can only assume.

What goes for reporting anymore amazes me.  I used to get more info in the "Mr. and Mrs. Ivor Johnson entertained Mr. and Mrs. Everett Cole on the evening of July the 7th .......   " section. Complete with recipes of the meal and brand and costs of the wine/beer/whiskey.

Couple of mental impressions I come away with reading this story,

One, I agree with DS, be on the lookout for what exactly?   A description of vehicle,  people would be helpful.

Secondly, I hope the LEOs involved in this tracked the cell phone.   Someone steals a cell phone,  that should be like a die pack going off in a bank bag.

Finally,  anyone gets the drop on me, ain't no way in hades I am going to let someone tie me up.

If I'm reading the story, google maps and zillow, correctly this did not occur because it was a shoddy neighborhood. Quite the contrary. Looks like some very nice homes out there.

gary,

If they are stout enough to tie you up, I'm not gonna mess with them! :)

Related note, I saw a picture making the rounds on reddit the other day. Some kid in FL tried to kick in the door to a house, turns out HO was home, and held the perp at gunpoint until LEO's arrived. Firearm owner took a pic. Not the smartest move IMHO.
